Movie: Where the Crawdads Sing Abandoned by her family, Kya Clark grows up alone in the marshes of North Carolina and becomes known as the “Marsh Girl.” When a local man is found dead, Kya’s isolation makes her the prime suspect in a gripping tale of survival, love and prejudice. Our monthly Page to Screen series is a partnership between the Newtown Theatre and the Newtown Bookshop. Each film in the series is based on a bestselling or beloved book. At the end of each movie, one lucky winner will go home with the book on which that night’s movie is based.
