Snipes Farm Send a Child to Summer Camp - We are more aware than ever of the needs of families this year as we continue to receive calls for scholarship support. Donations from individuals, congregations, businesses and foundations are making a difference in the lives of local children who will be able to attend camp with their contributions. A generous donor has provided a $30,000 matching challenge which matches donations dollar-for-dollar doubling each donation. Might you, your congregation, civic group or business want to sponsor a child? $ 232 sponsors a child for a half week $ 465 sponsors a child for one week $ 3720 sponsors all eight weeks of camp. Washington Crossing Historic Park (WCHP) in Pennsylvania plans to host an expanded Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2026 from 4:00 to 9:30 PM featuring immersive living history experiences, family-friendly activities, live music, and the return of fireworks over the Delaware River. Designed as a community-wide celebration of America250, the event is intended to create a meaningful space for residents and visitors to commemorate this historic milestone year. The Friends of Washington Crossing Park (FWCP) has launched a targeted fundraising effort to reach its $75,000 goal and challenges the public to contribute. 6/6 - Monet Mingle, AOY Art Center, 5-8pm
AOY Art Center invites the community to experience a truly distinctive summer event with Monet Mingle, an upscale outdoor cocktail party celebrating the beauty and spontaneity of plein air painting. Inspired by Claude Monet and the Impressionists, Monet Mingle blends art, atmosphere, and community into a relaxed yet refined garden setting. Guests will enjoy signature cocktails, live music featuring harp and classical guitar, and fine bites prepared on site by Chef Joe Garvey, creating an immersive and sensory-rich evening. At the heart of the event, three accomplished regional artists—Joseph Gyurscak, Jessica Barnum, and Christopher Monteiro—will create original plein air paintings live throughout the evening. 6/7 - 2026 Run for Woods System of Care, 8:45am. Founded in 1913, Woods Services has grown into Woods System of Care, a network of affiliates providing coordinated lifelong care to more than 40,000 children, adolescents, and adults with complex behavioral health needs, intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injury. We have an awesome morning planned on Sunday, June 7, 2026, for runners, walkers, and rollers of all abilities participating in the Run for Woods 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run presented by Ciocca Automotive. The festivities kick off with an opening ceremony at 8:45 a.m., followed by the 5K at 9:00 a.m., and the 1-Mile Fun Run at 9:10 a.m. Participants meet at 40 Martin Gross Drive in Langhorne, and run, roll, and stroll through the scenic trails at Woods Services. 6/7 - Heroes and Lovers, La Fiocco Baroque Ensemble, 3-5PM
La Fiocco, the Bucks County Baroque ensemble, will conclude its 2025-2026 season with Heroes and Lovers, a musical celebration of history and myth. Special guest artist soprano Laura Heimes returns for a program that pays tribute to legendary heroes and lovers including Cleopatra, Hercules, Don Quixote, Arion, and Cloris-Flora. Selections include overtures, arias, and cantatas by George Frideric Handel, André Campra, Georg Phillip Telemann, Marc Antoine Charpentier, and Nicola Porpora.

6/7 - Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Sellersville Theatre, 8pm. Since its formation in the early nineties in Ventura, California, the band has toured virtually nonstop, performing on average over 150 shows a year, and has produced a sizable catalog of recorded music, with sales of over 2 million albums to date. Early on, during their legendary residency at the Derby nightclub in Los Angeles, they reminded the world, in the midst of the grunge era no less, that it was still cool to swing. The band, co-founded by singer Scotty Morris and drummer Kurt Sodergren, was at the forefront of the swing revival of that time, blending a vibrant fusion of the classic American sounds of jazz, swing, and dixieland, with the energy and spirit of contemporary culture.

6/9 - Hamilton de Holanda Trio @McCarter Theatre, 7:30pm
The bandolim (Brazilian mandolin) has a special place in Brazilian music, and Hamilton de Holanda is one of its leading players. He performs on a custom-made 10-string bandolim, known for fast, detailed improvisation that has expanded what the instrument can do. A Latin GRAMMY Award-winning artist and composer, de Holanda has taken the bandolim beyond traditional choro and Brazilian jazz. He has worked with artists including Chick Corea, Chucho Valdés, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Esperanza Spalding, Snarky Puppy, Dave Matthews, and Coldplay. His 2024 duo album Collab with Gonzalo Rubalcaba was nominated for a GRAMMY Award for Best Latin Latin Jazz Album.

6/10 - Heritage Lecture - Behind the Lines: Female Followers of the Continental, 7:30pm. Join us via Zoom as we mark the semiquincentennial with a fresh perspective on the American Revolutionary War, one that centers the often-overlooked women who supported the Continental Army camp. Who were these women and why did they follow the army? Historian Samantha Allison's presentation illuminates the vital role of female camp followers: the women who marched alongside military units, performing the essential labor that sustained the army's daily operations. The presentation also explores how military authorities navigated the presence of female followers. Officers sought to balance the practical necessity of support services with the demands of discipline and logistics, revealing a complex relationship between these women and the army. Stand up comedy returns for a third summer of laughter to Charlann Farms in Yardley. Experience the power of poetry, rhythm, and art under the open sky as Danny Simmons presents Wordsmith: A Def Poetry Reunion Honoring Ursula Rucker, in partnership with Grounds For Sculpture. 6/13 - McConkey’s Market, Washington Crossing Historic Park, 10-4pm
Area residents looking for one-of-a-kind artisan gifts for themselves or others can check out McConkey’s Market on Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA). Now celebrating its 12th season, McConkey’s Market attracts thousands of shoppers to its eclectic mix of nearly 100 vendors who sell artisan crafts, up-cycled items, handmade jewelry, original art and photography, pottery, vintage clothing, reclaimed furniture, and collectibles. The market also features live music and several food vendors. McConkey’s Market takes its name from the park’s McConkey Ferry Inn, parts of which date back to 1750. The building represents a typical country inn or tavern of the Revolutionary era. Tradition has it that George Washington ate at the inn prior to his crossing of the Delaware River.

6/26 - Garden Tours, Hibbs House, 12:30pm.
Join Washington Crossing Historic Park’s Historical Horticulturist, Anna Davis, for a guided walk through the working garden that supports the park’s interpretation of colonial life. During this 45-minute tour, visitors will explore the seasonal herbs, vegetables, flowers, and dye plants that would have been commonly grown in American kitchen gardens of the 1700s. Learn how these plants were used for food, textiles, and everyday remedies while discovering how historians and gardeners reconstruct historic landscapes using period sources. Along the way, Anna will share stories about early American gardening practices, heirloom plant varieties, and the role gardens played in the daily life of families living along the Delaware River during the Revolutionary era.
