Between sections of this liturgical work, the chorale will intersperse contemporary pieces that respond to themes within the Mass, bringing new perspectives on forgiveness, faith, peace, and unity in a divided world.  Contemporary works include “Fragile” by Sting and “Exsultate! Free Outdoor Jazz Concert at Washington Crossing Historic Park, May 25th
The historic Newtown Theatre and the Friends of Washington Crossing Park (PA) are teaming up for a third year to present a free outdoor jazz concert on Saturday, May 25 from 6 to 8 PM. The concert will be held on the banks of the Delaware River near the visitor center at Washington Crossing Historic Park (1112 River Road, Washington Crossing, PA) The featured jazz artist this year is Calli Graver. Graver’s love for jazz, classical and pop helped shape the genre-bending sound heard in her original music today. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnic dinner, chairs, and blankets. Alcohol is not permitted in the state park. Four-legged friends are welcome but must be leashed and under control at all times. No tickets or registration are required for this free concert. Rain date is Monday, May 27 at the same time. More info.

Volunteers Needed for SLNC’s Summer Nature Camp
Silver Lake Nature Center is seeking Volunteer Summer Camp Assistants/Counselors-In-Training (CITs). Students ages 15 – 17 have the opportunity to volunteer their time to be Counselors-In-Training at SLNC’s Summer Nature
Camp. These students are required to work at least 2 weeks from 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday. CITs assist counselors in conducting programs. They help children explore SLNC’s habitats, play games, make crafts, and have fun! Students interested must fill out an application and will go through the interview
process. There is a mandatory orientation before Summer Camp starts. CITs may ask for letters of recommendation or letters to confirm their volunteer hours for school. If your student is interested in a CIT position, please reach out to SLNC’s Camp Director, Holly Hewchuk at v-hlhewchuk@buckscounty.org and she will email you a copy of the job description and application. Bucks County Playhouse Announces 2024 Mainstage Season
Featuring four productions in the historic playhouse, the Playhouse's 85th season kicks off in May 2024 with a new production of Michael Frayn's outrageous farce, "Noises Off," and is anchored by a world premiere musical, "Last of the Red Hot Mamas." The season will also feature new productions of "Grease," and "Anastasia: The Musical." In addition, the Playhouse will revive its production of "The Rocky Horror Show," which broke box office records last October.
For 2024, we're taking a fresh look at three of the greats: "Noises Off," "Grease," and for the holidays, 'Anastasia”. "In between, we are proud to produce another world premiere, the new musical 'Last of the Red Hot Mamas.' We hope these shows will honor the Playhouse's history in presenting first-class productions of well-loved revivals while also fostering new works that reflect the diversity of the modern American theater.

NHC Announces PrideFest 2024 Theme and Newly Crowned Miss & Mr. NHC
Get ready to make some noise for the New Hope Celebrates (NHC) 21st Annual LGBTQ+ Pride Festival, taking place May 11th - 19th, 2024 in New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ. This year's PrideFest theme is "Hear Us Roar', emphasizing the need to amplify LGBTQ+ voices and elevate queer art. At the event, they will formally introduce the new Miss NHC, Queen Diva Divine Monroe, and Mr. NHC, Sir Harold Angels.

Learn Juggling and the Circus Arts at Snipes Farm Summer Day Camp

This year, your camper can learn juggling and other circus arts with the Trenton Circus Squad, which will join us at camp every week.
We've filled many of our available spots, but there's still room for your child! Camp begins June 17. About Our Camp: Snipes Farm Day Camp connects children and youth to 80-acres of woods, creeks, fields and gardens for learning adventures every day with friends on a farm. 5/4 - Washington Crossing Brewfest
Attend the first, and best, beer festival of the season in Bucks County, PA! Taking place at Washington Crossing Historic Park for its 13th year, Brewfest is on Saturday, May 4 from 12:30 to 4:30 PM.
This year, we have expanded upon our wide selection of IPA’s, allowing you to sample a variety of beer and brewed malt beverages - including hard ciders, kombuchas, seltzers, spiked teas, and others throughout the day. 5/4 - Botanical Printing & Dyeing Class
Class Description: Botanical natural dyeing is the process of embedding botanical “stamps” directly from plant material into fabric or paper. Working with natural elements such as leaves, blossoms, berries, vegetables and bark, you will design and dye your own silk scarf. As you are waiting for the materials to process, Kathy will guide you on a nature walk to discuss the dyeing characteristics of different types of natural materials. Participants are encouraged to collect and flatten botanicals prior to the workshop. 5/11 - Yardley Book and Puzzle Swap
While you’re spring cleaning, clear some books from your shelves and bring them to the Swap. Then trade them for a supply of new-to-you books. Jigsaw puzzles are welcome, too. Please bring no more than 10 (ten) books of current interest to adults and/or children. And please remember that it’s a swap, not a drop event.
We had to change our policy regarding incoming items since our storage space is limited to just three book shelves. The Princeton Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present award-winning pianist Sara Davis Buechner as soloist in performances of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major, Op. 15 the weekend of May 11-12 at Richardson Auditorium. Edward T. Cone Music Director Rossen Milanov conducts the program which includes John Luther Adams' Become River and Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 4 in D Minor, Op. 120.
The concerts take place on Saturday, May 11 at 8pm and Sunday, May 12 at 4pm at Richardson Auditorium on the campus of Princeton University. The Sunday performance will be preceded by a 3pm pre-concert talk hosted by Maestro Milanov, which will include Ms. Buechner, and augment a Mother's Day outing to the concert hall.

The historic Newtown Theatre and the Friends of Washington Crossing Park (PA) are teaming up for a third year to present a free outdoor jazz concert on Saturday, May 25 from 6 to 8 PM. The concert will be held on the banks of the Delaware River near the visitor center at Washington Crossing Historic Park. The featured jazz artist this year is Calli Graver. 5/26 - Memorial Day Ceremony
Washington Crossing Historic Park will hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony on Sunday, May 26 at 1 PM at the gravesite of Continental soldiers located near the Thompson-Neely House. The observation will include a colonial color guard, fife and drum music, Revolutionary War reenactors, veterans, and other honored guests.

5/27 - Memorial Main Street Mile, Yardley
Yardley Borough Parks and Recreation Board is hosting the Memorial Main Street Mile. Celebrate Memorial Day with a chip-timed 1-mile race on Main Street in historic Yardley Borough to benefit American Legion Post 317. The Memorial Main Street Mile race will begin at Wells Fargo Bank (225 South Main Street) and finishes at the Yardley Friends Meeting House (65 North Main Street).
Kids Race: The race will begin at 8:00am with a separate start for children ages 6-14 years of age with additional prizes for first, second and third place based on the following age groups: 6-8 years; 9-11 years and 12-14 years. Children that require adult supervision are welcome to register for the open mile race.
Walkers and strollers are welcome in this race and we ask that you start at the back.

5/27 - Memorial Day Tribute To Local Veterans At The Callahan Research Center
The Newtown Historic Association will hold its annual Tribute to Local Veterans on Monday, May 27th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the NHA’s Callahan Research Center. Come see over 100 pictures of local soldiers who fought in the World War II, Korea, and VietNam wars. This collection was created by Mike Donovan, a past NHA member and history buff. Also on display will be letters written by soldiers containing their private thoughts and moments as they experienced war. In addition, more than 300 World War II military shoulder patches from the U.S. Army, Army Air Force, Marines, Navy and Coast Guard will be on display. They represent a variety of battles and war campaigns that took place across Europe and Asia. A special focus is provided through the eyes of 12 Newtown natives and soldiers, not all of them coming home.
This is a one-day-only event. It is free and open to the public.

Learn the ancient art of Shibori dyeing. Shibori involves folding, binding, twisting or stitching natural fabric and then submerging the article in a vat of indigo dye several times. Variations are a natural result, so each piece is truly one-of-a-kind. Four Shibori pattern techniques will be taught.
