The Grundy Library invites you to its Grand Reopening Celebration

Local Artists’ Cooperative Gallery Celebrates 10th Anniversary

6/17 - Juneteenth Celebration
In honor of Juneteenth on June 17, Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA) will host several free special events and activities that will educate visitors about the contribution of African American soldiers during the American Revolution.
The day will begin at 3:30 PM in the park’s Visitor Center auditorium with a free lecture that will highlight the experience of Black soldiers during the American Revolution. Presenters will include reenactor and first-person historian Noah Lewis and Linda Salley, president and executive director of the African American Museum of Bucks County.
At 5:00 PM jazz vocalist Joyce Simpson and The Quake Band will perform a free outdoor concert on the park’s riverbank. During the concert, park reenactors will share short presentations about the role Black soldiers played in the Revolution.
Food will be available from Daddy’s Kitchen and M&E Edibles Cake DeZigns and Catering. Four-legged friends are welcome but must be leashed.

Grammy Award-winning choir The Crossing presents the world premiere of FARMING, a stirring new work by Ted Hearne directed by Ashley Tata, outdoors at Kings Oaks Farm from June 22-25. Having been in development for four years, FARMING promises to be a major event showcasing Hearne’s trademark stylistic eclecticism, driving rhythms, and explosive energy. 6/24 - Juneteenth! Celebrating Freedom
Frederick Douglass, Buffalo Soldiers, artisans, musicians and historic reenactors will come together on Saturday, June 24th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grounds of Middletown Friends Meeting, 453 West Maple Avenue, Langhorne PA to mark Juneteenth, the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Visitors to the June 24th celebration will be able to stroll the historic Meetinghouse grounds where they may interact with black history reenactors, hear music derived from the experience of the enslaved or enjoy the sounds of a marching band. There will be vendors offering food, books, collectibles, and creations in wood and other media, plus exhibits and booths showcasing community pride and activism.

The annual Bristol Borough Celtic Day festival is set for Sunday, June 25, 2023 and will run from 12-6pm. The festival has been a yearly tradition at the Bristol Borough waterfront for 23 years and features an elaborate celebration of Celtic culture and heritage. Celtic Day will bring a number of vendors to the park.

6/25 - Bloomin' for Butterflies Class
Pollinators transfer pollen from plant to plant to allow for seed and fruit production. This program is all about our favorite pollinators, the butterflies. You will learn which plant materials are the favorite pollen sources and host plants for our local butterflies. You will create your own meadow container garden filled with an assortment of plants to attract beneficial pollinators and hummingbirds to your yard. We welcome family members to join together to create their container. Fees include lecture and all plants, 22×13.5″ container and materials needed to make the garden. $145. 1-3pm.

Round up your family or friends for a spirited colonial competition at Colonial Field Day on Saturday July 1 10:00-11:30 from 1:00-2:30. 7/2 - Rebels & Redcoats Classic Car Show
As part of its annual Independence Day celebration, Washington Crossing Historic Park invites classic car owners to compete in the fifth annual Rebels & Redcoats Classic Car Show on Sunday, July 2 from 10 AM to 2 PM.
This unique show features American, French, British and German cars, representing the four countries involved in the Revolutionary War. Classic show-condition cars from model years 1998 and earlier are welcome in this class. There will also be an open class for cars of any make, model, and year. These prizes will be determined by peer judging.

7/3 - Northampton Township Patriotic Concert
St. Bede the Venerable Church will host its 16th Annual Patriotic Concert starting at 7 p.m. Monday, July 3. Bring a lawn chair to the church at 1071 Holland Road. The concert includes musical tributes to notable rock figures and Broadway musicals of American history, salutes to the military branches, and food and drinks for sale. The event is free.

7/4 - Independence Day Celebration: Living History Day
Celebrate Independence Day by bringing the whole family back in time—to July 4, 1776!
At Washington Crossing Historic Park, you can watch living historians demonstrate their crafts and see a military encampment from noon to 4 PM on Tuesday, July 4. A highlight of the day will be readings of the Declaration of Independence at 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM.
Tickets are $8 for adults age 12 and over; $4 for children ages 5-11; and free for those under 5, active duty military, and members of the Friends of Washington Crossing Park. Families with up to two adults and two children living in the same household can purchase a single Family ticket for $20. Pre-registration is recommended. Admission to Bowman’s Hill Tower is included in your ticket to Living History Day.
