“Original 9” Tennis Exhibit and Bucks County Tennis Trail Promotion
The 2022 National Public Parks Tennis Championships (NPPTC) are being hosted in Bucks County by the Bucks County Tennis Association (BCTA), Inc., and supported by the Bucks County Tourism Grant Program. The adult and junior competitive events will include plenty of tennis festivities for tennis players, enthusiasts, and spectators. While numerous activities will occur throughout the weekend of July 22–24, when the NPPTC returns to the Philadelphia area for the first time since 1926, fun promotions in advance of the championships start now! The "Original 9" exhibit, generously hosted by Bucks County Community College in Linksz Pavilion on the Newtown Campus, is a reproduction of the International Tennis Hall of Fame's display that recognizes the nine pioneers who started the Women's Professional Tennis Tour. This timely exhibit also commemorates the 50th anniversary of Title IX as well as honors Billie Jean King—a member of the Original 9—who is receiving the 2022 Eugene L. Scott Renaissance Award for her contributions to public park tennis. Plus, the free exhibit counts as two court visits on the Tennis Trail. More information
