25 Women to Build Habitat Home in Morrisville on May 11th
Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County will gather 25 women to help fully renovate a 3 Bedroom, 1 bath home in Morrisville, PA as part of National Women Build Week. Now in its 11th year, National Women Build Week, an initiative created by Habitat for Humanity and Lowe's, has brought together more than 117,000 all-women construction volunteers to build or repair more than 4,500 homes. Washington Crossing Historic Park’s annual sheep shearing event will take place on May 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees can see sheep being shorn of the winter wool coats and then try their hand at the many steps it takes to turn the fleece into clothing. They will also learn about how wool was cleaned, dyed, carded, spun and woven into fabric in the 18th century. Tours of the Thompson-Neely House will also be offered. The class will be held at McCaffrey’s in Yardley located at Edgewood Village Shopping Center at 635 Heacock Road in the upstairs bistro from 10:00 - 11:00 am. 6/2 - Kids All American Fishing Derby at Tyler State Park
For kids 16 and under. Adults do not have to sign up, yet must accompany children. No experience necessary! Expert fishermen from Langhorne Rod Club will be on hand to provide great tips on fishing success. Each child will receive an official fishing derby kit, one cup of bait, drink and a soft pretzel. Children should bring their own fishing pole. Prizes for largest fish will be awarded! Meet at Tyler State Park Dam (near the boat House). 8:30am - 11:30am. Sign up early-supplies are limited!

6/2 - Newtown Strawberry Festival
The Annual Strawberry Festival celebrating the beginning of summer will be held on the grounds of the Historic Church in Newtown from 11am - 3pm. Once again, this year’s event promises to be a time of fun for the entire family! This is a wonderful time to enjoy the featured item of the day – strawberry shortcake (made with fresh-picked berries from Shady Brook Farm). The activities for the day will include good music, great food, children’s Yoga, games, face painting, balloon art, prizes and a visit by Disney’s Moana (from 12-1:30). The event is to be held at The Historic Presbyterian Church of Newtown at 76 N. Sycamore Street. In case of rain, the event will be held at Newtown Presbyterian Church, 25 N. Chancellor Street, Newtown, PA.
