Calling All Vocalists for Newtown Welcome Day!
The Newtown Business Association is seeking singers to show off their talent at its Rising Star Competition to be held at the NBA Welcome Day “Street Fair with Flair” on Sunday May 6th. This event is open to all area student and adult vocalists, grades 7 and up. Winners of the Rising Star Competition will be determined by a panel of judges on event day. Contestants will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. $150 prizes will be awarded to the winners in the adult category and the 7th grade through 12th grade student category, donated by Newtown Business Association.

Yardley Borough Council is looking for members to fill five seats on our newly established Human Relations Commission, either Yardley Borough Residents or employed Full-Time in the Borough to serve on the committee for three years. The Commission was established to ensure that all persons, regardless of actual or perceived race, color, sex, religion, ancestry, genetic information, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, familial status, marital status, age, mental or physical,etc. are afforded equal opportunities for employment, housing and the use of public accommodations. Calling All Classic Car Owners! As part of its annual Independence Day celebration, Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA) invites classic car owners to compete in “Rebels vs. Redcoats: A Revolutionary Car Show,” being held on Sunday, July 1 from noon to 4 p.m. In keeping with the park’s revolutionary history, the show will feature American and French cars pitted against British and German cars. 4/15 - “Last Look” Walk, a 5.7-mile Round-Trip Walk
The Phillips’ Mill Bridge will be replaced in 2018 with construction of the project access road scheduled to start in late April or May. The turnaround point for the “Last Look” Walk will be the Phillips’ Mill Bridge, so that the structure can be viewed before it is gone. Join the Friends of the Delaware Canal for the “Last Look” Walk, a 5.7-mile round-trip walk between the Virginia Forrest Recreation Area and the Phillips’ Mill Bridge. There is no fee and registration is not required for this guided Walk. Begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Virginia Forrest Recreation Area, 3211 River Road, New Hope, PA (1.3 miles north of Centre Bridge). The Yardley Historical Association will present “The Receipt that Created Yardley,” an illustrated program about a significant, though unassuming, document signed by William Penn that was recently gifted to the Association. This receipt was passed down from generation to generation in the Yardley family, and last year was added to the collection of the Yardley Historical Association through the generosity of Ralph Yardley.

The Reach for the Stars Gala is the annual fundraiser for The Bridge Academy. The Bridge Academy in Lawrenceville, NJ is a small school with a BIG mission – to teach children in grades 3-12 with language based learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, to read and write. Our goal is to educate and empower students who learn differently to reach their fullest potential.
