Bucks Beautiful Launches New Reforestation Initiative
Bucks Beautiful is taking on a new initiative called Replant Bucks, with the goal of planting 10,000 trees in Bucks County to replace the ash trees that have been killed by the emerald ash borer. There is a real sense of urgency with Replant Bucks since the bare root “whips,” which are two to three-year-old trees without branches, must be planted before April 15 while they are still dormant. Grey Nun Academy Announces Sacred Heart Scholars Program
Grey Nun Academy, a Catholic, co-ed Lower and Middle school in Yardley, announced its new Sacred Heart Scholars Program created to award merit-based scholarships to incoming, high-achieving middle school students who desire a rigorous high school preparatory educational experience. Sacred Heart Scholarships are reserved for new students in Grades 6 and 7 and will cover a portion of tuition for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 academic years. 3/31 - Bagels and Birding for Beginners
If you have wanted to begin watching birds, but did not know where to start, this is your opportunity to learn. Start your morning with bagels and coffee; then, learn the basics of field identification through visual and behavioral cues, as well as some common song recognition. We will head out to test our new-found knowledge in the field. Please bring binoculars if you have them!
