Artists of Yardley Call For Entries
The AOY Art Center in Yardley is preparing for its 6th Annual Juried Show and has issued a “Call for Artists” to submit entries before February 28th. “This is the only exhibition that AOY holds that non-members can participate,” explained Devon John, the show chairperson. The entry fee of $35 allows artists to submit up to three original works for the consideration of the Juror. All media will be considered except film/video, jewelry, crafts and giclee prints. Pickering Manor Celebrates A Supercentenarian - Rosie E. will be 110!
Rosalie Esposito will be 110 years old on February 11th! We will be having a huge celebration for Rosie on Friday, February 10th at 2:00 pm in our Personal Care Unit. From humble beginnings with parents who were immigrants from Sicily to moving to New Haven and raising her children Dolores and Paul with her husband Joseph, to becoming “Master Tailor” to the Professors at Yale University. If asked about her age Rosie responds, “It’s no big deal. Phillips’ Mill Photographic Exhibition Seeks Entries
The Phillips’ Mill Photographic Exhibition is seeking entries for its 25th annual competition and has selected a panel of jurors to choose the images - and prize winners - for the show scheduled for June 4-25 at the 1756 grist mill just outside New Hope, PA. The exhibition’s theme is “Photography as Art” and “Photographer as Artist.” Work is accepted in any medium involving a photographic process. More than half a dozen financial awards are presented. Repair and Connect: Rejuvenating Work Made of Fiber and Cloth
This exhibition is a group show featuring beautiful fiber works selected by guest co-curator Kevan Lunney. After a career in New York as a sleepwear designer, Kevan Lunney started her own label, Serenity, which offered hand painted silk lingerie. 2017 Classic Film Lineup Set at the Newtown Theatre
Eleven beloved classic films will return to the big screen—many for the first time in decades—at the historic Newtown Theatre in 2017. Movies scheduled for this year include “Gone with The Wind, “Titanic”, “The Godfather” and “Young Frankenstein”. This two-hour hands-on class at the Magnolia Homestead on Snipes Farm will cover the basics of how to make quark, a soft farmer’s cheese, at home. 2/26 - Maple Sugar Day & Pancake Breakfast, Churchville Nature Center
The public is invited to join us for this unique experience of making “sugar water” into sweet, sticky syrup. Everyone will learn the age-old process handed down by the Native Americans. There will be a variety of interpretive stations showing visitors the various steps taken to collect sap and make it into syrup. This year's event will feature a limited space pancake breakfast.
