“Tavern Night at the Half Moon Inn” is March 12, 2016
The Newtown Historic Association’s 14th annual “Tavern Night at the Half Moon Inn” will be held at the Half Moon Inn (Court Inn), located at Court Street and Centre Avenue (105 Court St.) on Saturday, March 12th from 7-11 PM. The evening will feature 18th century ale, music, dancing and games, along with delicious food catered by the Joseph Garvey of Joseph’s Garden Grille. Snipes Farm and Education Center
There is always something awesome happening at Snipes Farm and Education Center! After the quiet months of winter, it is exciting to gear up for a new growing and learning season! Farmers Victoria and Shaun planted the first seeds this week in the greenhouse for our CSA crops. The CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)  connects hundreds of families to fresh, local food. Veggie/fruit share pick-ups will be both at Snipes Farm or at the Yardley Farm Market. We are also excited to be hearing from Farm Day Camp families as they register for another amazing camp season! Pickling/Fermentation and Organic Gardening classes in March will give adults and older children hands-on skills are resources to grow and prepare more fresh food into your life. www.snipesfarm.org

Newtown Arts Company Presents “Treasure Island” March 12, Two Shows Only
Newtown Arts Company’s 2016 season premiers with Treasure Island, this year’s Classics for Kids selection. Robert Louis Stevenson’s original enduring pirate adventure will be brought to life at the Newtown Theatre by an all-kids cast, for two matinee performances on March 12, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Souvenir pirate eye patches will be given to the first 120 children who purchase or reserve tickets. Guided Tours Resume at Washington Crossing Park on March 13
Normal operating hours, including guided tours, will resume on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Pennsbury Senior to Play With Highly Acclaimed Newtown Chamber Orchestra
Newtown Chamber Orchestra will perform its final concert of its 26th season, “Beethoven Plus” on Saturday, April 9 at 7:00 pm.
Pennsbury Senior Evan Schnurr will play clarinet. Evan will perform Stamitz’s Concerto No. 3 in B Flat Major for clarinet. Evan is a 12th grade student at Pennsbury High School, currently studying with Brain Aadamczyk and Charly Salinger. He has been playing clarinet since age 10 and has been active in Marching Band, Jazz Band and orchestra throughout high school. Tickets are $25 Adults and Seniors. 3-12-16- Hollywood and the Civil War, a free program at Yardley-Makefield Library, 2pm Herb Kaufman is back for a return engagement presenting a program about Hollywood and the Civil War. Clark Gable, John Wayne, Errol Flynn, Matthew Broderick, Morgan Freeman, Olivia de Havilland and Sally Field are but a few of the countless notable Hollywood stars who appeared in motion pictures that have the Civil War as their narrative. On Saturday, March 19, 2016 the Newtown Business Association (NBA), will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Pickering Manor Field in Newtown Borough. Arrive at 8:30 am, the hunts begin at 9:00 am. This year the Easter Bunny will be on hand to Meet and Greet everyone. 3-20-16- Annual Scooby Doo Tennis Ball Hunt at Roberts Ridge Park in Newtown, 1:30 pm. Participants ages 4 - 9 are invited to Newtown Township's annual Tennis Ball Hunt! In addition to hunting for tennis balls, Bucks County Tennis Association will organize fun games and tennis-playing canine Scooby-Doo will be on hand to officially start the hunt and for photos. After the hunt, participants are invited to enjoy light refreshments. Space is limited and participants must pre-register for this event no later than March 15. 3-26-16- Morrisville Yardley Rotary Free Easter Egg Hunt, 11:00 am. This is a longstanding tradition (70 years). The children attending will collect plastic eggs with wrapped candy inside.
