Chamber Concert, Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey
War Memorial Ballroom, 1 Memorial Drive, Trenton. www.capitalphilharmonic.org. Concert pairs Classical elegance, contemporary invention, and 20th-century vibrancy, tracing a narrative from Mozart's poised clarity through Britten's youthful boldness and Caroline Shaw's inventive textures to the radiant ensemble writing of Bohuslav Martinu. During the performance, artist Kathleen Hurley Liao creates live paintings inspired by the music; those works will be offered at auction during the orchestra's Annual Gala following the concert. Kenneth T. Bean conducts. $40 general admission.
