Open House, The Bridge Academy

The Bridge Academy is a 501c3 not for profit specialized school for students with language-based learning disabilities, like dyslexia, auditory processing disorder, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and attention deficit disorder. Open Houses are held monthly for parents and professionals who wish to obtain more information regarding The Bridge Academy for a possible placement or referral for a child. Information will be presented regarding The Bridge Academy curriculum, the admissions process, a tour of the school, as well as the opportunity to ask questions. After the death of her husband, William Penn, Hannah Penn governed the colony of Pennsylvania, championing religious tolerance, diplomacy, and community-centered leadership during a pivotal moment in history. Through immersive storytelling and historical insight, this program sheds light on a remarkable woman whose vision still resonates today.

Movie: Hidden Figures Three brilliant African American women at NASA – Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson – play vital roles in launching astronaut John Glenn into orbit. Their perseverance and intelligence shatter racial and gender barriers during the height of the Space Race. Our monthly Page to Screen series is a partnership between the Newtown Theatre and the Newtown Bookshop. Each film in the series is based on a bestselling or beloved book. At the end of each movie, one lucky winner will go home with the book on which that night’s movie is based.
