Sourland Spectacular

The Sourland Spectacular is back, celebrating its 14th consecutive year on September 13 at 7am! The event at the Watershed Institute on September 13th will feature both flexible starts and lunches. Riders may begin when they would like between 7:00–10:00am in order to complete their route in time for lunch. Pre-event coffee and breakfast will be followed by lunches served from 11:00 until 2:00. The lunch will, of course, be capped by our famous ice cream sundaes.

The $60 early bird or $70 registration fee (plus processing charge) for the September 13th event includes light breakfast, one lunch entree and one beer/soft drink ticket, dessert (brownies & ice cream), snacks along the route and a fun swag item.

Walking Tour of Historic Flemington, Hunterdon County Historical Society

Discover the fascinating story of historic downtown Flemington with HCHS's Board President Janice Armstrong on Saturday, Sept, 13 at 10 a.m. Hear about the buildings, the people who built them, and how the downtown has changed and adapted after more than 300 years of settlement. Armstrong is a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County and a lover of local history, who has led a variety of Flemington tours over the years.

Your $15 donation will greatly benefit the county historical society’s work to preserve our local historical treasures. Pre-registration is required by emailing hunterdonhistoryadm@gmail.com. Tour begins in front of the Doric House Museum, 114 Main St. in Flemington.


Native Plant Sale & Butterfly Festival, Lambertville Goes Wild

Soldier Saturday Program, Washington Crossing Historic Park

Our Soldier Saturday programs will take place on the 2nd Saturday of each month. Held throughout the park, these educational programs take place throughout the park and focus on various aspects of military life during the American Revolution. Learn about artillery, camp life, and more.

Yoga in the Gardens

Join us for yoga on the Andalusia grounds led by Atlas Yoga & Movement. A one-hour outdoor Vinyasa Flow style yoga session led by Trina Shumsonk of Atlas Yoga & Movement. Exercise amidst nature on a cozy mulch wood path—remember to bring a blanket for extra comfort on the ground. This ticket also grants you admission to our gardens. Feel free to explore the beautiful Andalusia grounds before your class, afterwards, or both! The class begins at 11am, and we are open from 10am-5pm. Please bring your own mat and blanket!

SLNC Earthship 10th Anniversary Celebration

This fun, free-to-attend community event will welcome individuals & families to learn about Earthships and Sustainability. There will be special guest presenters (including Retired SLNC Assistant Director Naturalist-Lorraine Skala, Jim Skala, Retired SLNC Director Naturalist-Robert Mercer, Elinor Stapylton, and possibly more surprise guests) as well as some of our community partners to share info (including Bucks County Park Police, Bucks County Health Dept, Elinor Stapylton - Plant & Grey Water Specialist of Earthship Biotecture, Heritage Conservancy, Kiwanis of Levittown-Bristol, PA Bat Conservation & Rehabilitation, Wildlife In Need Emergency Response of PA). Participants will also get to enjoy live music, games, prizes, and more! The Live Music will be presented by Al Mikula and Friends! Food will be available for sale, as well as $5 wristbands for access to games/prizes and facepainting!

This event not only serves as an Anniversary Celebration but also a Fundraiser for the nonprofit Friends of SLNC organization to help SLNC continue to fulfill its Mission: “The Silver Lake Nature Center inspires connections with Nature for people of all ages, interests, and abilities through education, recreation, preservation, research, and advocacy.” The SLNC Earthship is the first (and still currently the only!) public-use Earthship on the East Coast! The Event will take place at and around the SLNC Earthship, located at 1006 Bath Road, Bristol, PA 19007. Parking will be available at the gravel parking lot by the SLNC Earthship, at Silver Lake Park, and at the SLNC Visitors’ Center (for those who would like to enjoy a Nature Walk to the Event).
