Movie: The Notebook In 1940s South Carolina, poor but passionate Noah falls deeply in love with wealthy Allie, sparking a romance that defies social class and time. Years later, an elderly man reads their story to a woman in a nursing home, revealing a timeless love that endures even through memory loss. Our monthly Page to Screen series is a partnership between the Newtown Theatre and the Newtown Bookshop. Each film in the series is based on a bestselling or beloved book. At the end of each movie, one lucky winner will go home with the book on which that night’s movie is based.
