A wildly theatrical adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson's best-selling novels, this Tony Award-winning play brims with marauding pirates, jungle tyrants, unwilling comrades, and unlikely heroes. When a precocious young Starcatcher-in-training named Molly discovers that a mysterious trunk contains powerful starstuff, she and the orphans must race to keep it out of the fearsome Black Stache's hands. Featuring a dozen actors portraying more than 100 unforgettable characters, the production playfully explores the depths of greed and despair, and the bonds of friendship, duty, and love—all brought to life through ingenious stagecraft and boundless imagination. His life is turned upside down when fairy tale creatures are banished to his home by the evil Lord Farquaad. To reclaim his swamp, Shrek makes a deal with Farquaad: he will rescue Princess Fiona, who is locked in a tower, in exchange for the return of his peaceful life.
