PRINCETON, NJ –Pennsylvania State Representative Kurt Masser toured a Community Options home on Friday, January 26. Community Options is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing residential and employment support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Rep. Masser spent time with the residents, Andrew and Devan. Andrew, a Mifflinburg, PA native, has been with Community Options since May and Devan, who attends Danville Area High School, has lived in the home since August. Devan is originally from Cattawissa, PA.
"I am extremely grateful that Rep. Masser took time out of his busy schedule to come out and visit Devan and Andrew's home," said David McConaghy, Associate Executive Director of Community Options. "I believe that involvement from local politicians allows the people we serve to feel like fully accepted members of the community they live in."
Rep. Masser has served in the Pennsylvania General Assembly since 2010, representing the 107th Legislative District. He is recognized as a leader by his colleagues, and serves as Caucus Administrator on the House Republican Leadership team.
