Historic Newtown Theatre Announces December Holiday Concerts

NEWTOWN, Pa. – December is packed full of holiday cheer at the historic Newtown Theatre with 10 holiday concerts this year. Tickets for every concert can be found at TheNewtownTheatre.com. This year’s lineup includes:
- “The Ultimate Christmas Party Concert with the Sassies” – Wednesday, December 10 at 3:00 p.m. Get in the holiday spirit with everyone’s favorite holiday songs, old and new, sung by the multigenerational Sassies – Kate Nice, Cait Dailey and Peg Keller.
- “Christmas Unplugged” – Thursday, December 11 at 8:00 p.m. This concert will feature a specially assembled group of singers/musicians playing acoustic versions of everyone’s favorite Christmas songs. The concert will be illuminated by hundreds of white lanterns placed throughout the theatre. Attendees will enjoy free hot chocolate and cookies from The Newtown Hardware House.
- “Holiday Dueling Pianos” – Friday, December 12 at 8:00 p.m. This rollicking concert will feature local husband and wife pianists Steve and Jenni Luhmann playing sing-along holiday classics and more.
- “A Very Valli Holiday” – Saturday, December 13 at 2:00 p.m. Hailed as the nation’s #1 tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Lights Out sings all of Valli’s hits plus everyone’s favorite holiday classics.
- “5th Annual Illuminated Classical Christmas Concert” – Tuesday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m. This one-of-a-kind concert will be illuminated by hundreds of elegant white lights and feature the Newtown Chamber Orchestra playing classical works and some well-known holiday songs.
- “A Celtic Christmas” – Wednesday, December 17 at 3:00 p.m. Nova Scotian sisters Cassie and Maggie have been lighting up the world with their unique blend of traditional and contemporary Celtic instrumentals and vocals.
- “Christmas Hits & All-Time Classics with Chris Pinnella and his 12-Piece Orchestra” – Friday, December 19 at 8:00 p.m. Join powerhouse vocalist and platinum-selling recording artist Chris Pinnella (formerly of Trans-Siberian Orchestra) and his 12-piece orchestra as they ring in the holiday season with everyone’s favorite Christmas classics and holiday hits.
- “A Motown Holiday with York Street Hustle” – Saturday, December 20 at 8:00 p.m. This concert will feature a mix of Motown and Stax holiday classics, 60s soul hits, and B-sides by Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Otis Redding, Al Green, Gladys Knight and many more.
- “3rd Annual Very Slambovian Christmas” – Tuesday, December 23 at 8:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Eve tradition! The Slambovian Circus of Dreams’ music has been described as “psychedelic folk Americana with an Alice in Wonderland vibe.” At their Newtown show, expect Christmas songs with a Slambovian twist and rockin’ original seasonal tunes for a fun, outside-the-box holiday show.
- “From Broadway to Newtown PA” – Saturday, December 27 at 8:00 p.m. Fifth in a series, this concert brings Broadway performers to the Newtown stage. The theme of this concert will be “The Golden Age of Broadway” and feature songs from hit shows ranging from “My Fair Lady” to “Hello, Dolly” to “Show Boat” and more. Accompanying the performers on piano will be Dan Micciche, conductor of the hit Broadway musical Wicked.
