Friends of the Doylestown Library hosts Lucretia Mott
Lucretia Mott, an early American-born leader in the fight to end slavery and assert women’s rights who had deep ties to Bucks County, will appear (in character) at the Doylestown Library on Sunday, March 22 at 2 pm., in a free presentation hosted by the Friends of the Doylestown Library. The presentation, “In Her Own Words: The Life & Legacy of Lucretia Mott,” is a first-person reenactment presented by Lois Gross, of Gather Place Museum, Yardley, and will feature Mott’s fearless leadership as a minister, abolitionist and suffragist, including her pivotal role in the historic 1848 Seneca Falls Women’s Rights Convention.
