"Shrek the Musical" is a vibrant and comedic adaptation of the beloved animated film. The story follows Shrek, a grumpy ogre who values his solitude in a swamp. His life is turned upside down when fairy tale creatures are banished to his home by the evil Lord Farquaad. To reclaim his swamp, Shrek makes a deal with Farquaad: he will rescue Princess Fiona, who is locked in a tower, in exchange for the return of his peaceful life.

Award-winning “kindie” rock band (kids + indie rock) Marsha and the Positrons will hit the Newtown Theatre stage for an educational, family-friendly show on Sunday, November 16 at 3:00 p.m.

Marsha and the Positrons specializes in fun, upbeat songs about science and how the world works with positive social messages. Playful and educational, they are known for shows that are a ton of family-friendly fun. Entertaining for elementary-age kids (age 5 – 10) and grownups alike, Marsha and the Positrons love getting audience members singing and dancing along to songs that inspire curiosity about science.

She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations... and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL, The Ballet by David Kloss

In keeping with the season, it is our pleasure to present the perennial favorite holiday ghost story, “A Christmas Carol.” This Charles Dickens classic comes to life through dance in this beautiful, high-spirited ballet, with original choreography by David Kloss and artistic direction by Delphine Del Bello Spencer. Mr. Kloss received critical acclaim for this work including special recognition from Cedric Dickens, great grandson of the author. In a personal letter to Mr. Kloss, Mr. Dickens congratulated him on his enterprising production, calling the ballet “a brilliant interpretation, a very happy occasion. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Kloss was a principal dancer with The Philadelphia Ballet for 15 years where he had numerous roles created on him.
