BUCKS COUNTY, PA — As the United States marks its 250th anniversary, Bucks250PA is inviting residents and visitors to celebrate the Fourth of July in historic Bucks County with a weekend filled with living history demonstrations, parades, museum exhibitions, family festivals, fireworks, and community events. Independence Day offers countless opportunities to explore the stories, people, and places that shaped the nation.
"This year's celebration is especially meaningful as we commemorate America's Semiquincentennial," said Robert J. Harvie, Chair of Bucks250PA. "Communities across Bucks County have come together to create experiences that honor our shared history while welcoming visitors to make new memories in the places where history comes alive."
Throughout the weekend, visitors can experience special exhibitions including The Crossing: Picturing the American Revolution at the Michener Art Museum, Pieced Together: American Quilts Across Generations at Pearl S. Buck International, and Revolutionary Family: The Biddles & American Independence at Andalusia Historic House, Gardens & Arboretum. Families can also explore George's Inn: Life in 1776 at the Bucks County Children's Museum, discover the Bucks County Abolitionist Trail Hub, take an exclusive guided tour of Mercer Museum's Doan Gang exhibition, or make a splash at Sesame Place Philadelphia.
On July 4, communities across the county will host celebrations including the 44th Annual Rev Run and Independence Day Celebration with fireworks at Washington Crossing Historic Park, the Tri-Municipal Fourth of July Parade, Southampton Day festivities, Fonthill Castle's Fourth of July program, Red, White, and Blueberries BBQ Bash at Peddler's Village, America Celebrates festivities in New Hope, and the 250 Celebration at Styer Orchard in Langhorne, creating a full day of family-friendly events that honor both local traditions and the nation's 250th anniversary.
Visitors are also encouraged to explore Bucks250PA's Revolutionary War, Heritage, Abolitionist, and Lenape Trails. Through interactive digital experiences and a printed Revolutionary War Trail map, travelers can discover at their own pace the people, places, and stories that have shaped Bucks County across generations. Developed in partnership with local historical organizations and cultural institutions, the trails invite exploration in 2026 and beyond.
Whether tracing the footsteps of the nation's founders, attending a hometown parade, or discovering a museum for the first time, Bucks County offers meaningful ways to celebrate the nation's 250th anniversary while exploring the diverse stories that continue to shape the American experience.
