Washington's Crossing Reenactments Return December 14 and 25, 2025 - The Friends of Washington Crossing Park will host two opportunities to experience the Crossing this season: the First Crossing on Sunday, December 14, and the Christmas Day Crossing on Thursday, December 25. Both events feature hundreds of reenactors in full Continental Army dress, bringing the 18th century to life with military drills, fife and drum music, and the dramatic river crossing in replica Durham boats. Funding for this event was provided by America250PA's Semiquincentennial Grant Program.

Glencairn Museum’s annual World Nativities exhibition presents dozens of three-dimensional Nativity scenes collected from around the world. For many Christians, the Nativity scene is a meaningful expression of religious faith, providing a compelling visual focus during the Christmas season. World Nativities shows how artists adapt the Nativity scene to represent their own spiritual, intellectual, cultural, and regional environments. Settings for many of the Nativities have been created by Bryn Athyn artist Kathleen Glenn Pitcairn. $5.00 per person, included with a guided tour/event attendance. Patriots Week at the Old Barracks Museum: A Celebration of Trenton's Historical Heritage - Don't miss out on this year's Patriots Week, a popular celebration of Trenton's revolutionary role in America's history. From December 26th to 31st, New Jersey provides the opportunity for residents and tourists to experience the events that shaped our nation. Join us at the Colonial Ball, which will take place on Friday, December 26th, at 7 pm at the Historic Trenton Masonic Temple or Saturday, December 27th, we will host the Battles of Trenton Reenactments, the battles that shaped the destiny of the American Revolution and our nation. Bucks County Community College Seeks Great Fiction Writers
Officials at Bucks County Community College are seeking entries for the ninth annual Bucks County Short Fiction Contest. The contest is open to Bucks County residents who are 18 years or older; employees of Bucks County Community College are not eligible. The top three winners will receive gift cards of $200, $100, and $50, and will share their work at a celebratory reading in March on the College's Newtown Campus. They will be joined by the contest's final judge, writer John Phillips. The deadline for submissions is noon Thursday, January 22. Stories must be previously unpublished – including in blogs and online platforms – and must be submitted online. 12/6 - Newtown’s Holiday House Tour, 10-4pm.
Celebrate the beauty of the season with the Newtown Historic Association’s (NHA) Holiday House Tour. Now in its 62nd year, this tour gives visitors the opportunity to peek into several of Newtown’s unique private residences, all dressed up for the holidays! The streets of Newtown Borough will be alive with the sounds of the season as tour-goers make their way to the five town residences on this year’s tour. Besides the private homes, there will be several public buildings open for visitors. All sites are within easy walking distance from the town center.

12/6 - Holiday Chili Luncheon, Newtown Presbyterian Church, 11:30-2:30pm. Join us for chili (meat or vegetarian), cornbread, salad, dessert and beverage. The Chili Luncheon is an important fundraiser. Ticket sale proceeds will be used for the maintenance and beautification of the Historic Church. Please note that for safety precautions all food offered for in-house dining will be individually packaged, and disposable containers will be utilized. A raffle will be held for a chance to win a handmade quilt. Additionally, there will be cookies and hand sewn items available for sale. All purchases require either CASH or CHECK. 12/6 - 2025 Mill Hill Holiday House & Window Tour, 12-5pm.,
The House Tour started 58 years ago, is Mill Hill’s signature event, and a Trenton tradition. Homes in the neighborhood will display special decorations through their front windows and/or on their exteriors, with some of the homeowners hosting visitors with holiday music, refreshments, and insightful conversation on their stoops and sidewalks. With the variety of home sizes, ages, and architectural styles, Mill Hill’s nineteenth-century streetscape is one of the most interesting between New York and Philadelphia. Tickets are available to be purchased in advance or can be purchased the day-of at Artworks. The tour begins at Artworks located at 19 Everett Alley and South Stockton Street, Trenton. TICKETS

Select Wednesdays and Sundays. It is during this festive season that the Cairnwood Critters venture out of their secret homes in the walls to celebrate! Families will make their way through the glittering grand rooms of the Estate while on a quest to find the hiding (and cute) little critters. As the days keep getting darker in early December, it is a perfect time to hear “General Washington” talking about the Dark Days of the American Revolution. Come out as they kick off the semiquincentennial at Summerseat House, General Washington's Headquarters, on December 7th at 2:00 p.m. Sam Davis, portraying Washington, will bring that time in history to life, sharing details of the daring Battles of New York, Trenton (first and second), and Princeton. Join Heritage Conservancy for a family-friendly guided nature walk through the beautiful Croydon Woods Nature Preserve every second Saturday of the month! Led by their environmental educators, these strolls are a chance to slow down, connect with nature, and discover the plants and wildlife that make this 80-acre coastal plain forest such a special place. Each walk will highlight seasonal changes in the woods and provide opportunities to learn, explore, and enjoy the fresh air! 12/14 - Washington Crossing Reenactment, Washington Crossing Historic Park, 10-3pm. Each December, thousands of people gather on the banks of the Delaware River to watch the reenactment of George Washington’s daring 1776 Christmas night river crossing. During the event, several hundred reenactors in Continental military dress listen to an inspiring speech by General Washington and then row across the river in replica Durham boats. Come out for the First Crossing on Sunday, December 14th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (actual crossing at 1:00 PM). This is not a dress rehearsal, but rather a fundraising event. Beyond witnessing the historical reenactment, visitors can immerse themselves in the Colonial Era for the day. During this event, families are invited to participate in a range of activities.

This family-friendly event is the last self-guided tour opportunity to see Cairnwood’s halls decked with 8 sparkling Christmas trees and fantasy fireplace mantels throughout the Estate. 12/27 - From Broadway to Newtown PA, Newtown Theatre, 8pm.
Fifth in a series, this concert brings Broadway performers to the Newtown stage. The theme of this concert will be “The Golden Age of Broadway” and feature songs from hit shows ranging from “My Fair Lady” to “Hello, Dolly” to “Show Boat” and more. Accompanying the performers on piano will be Dan Micciche, conductor of the hit Broadway musical Wicked.
