Ghost Tours of New Hope
As you take a lantern-lit walk along the shadowy streets and darkened alleyways of this rich, eclectic, historic town, you will learn about the ghostly haunts and history behind them. Perhaps you’ll even catch a fleeting glimpse or hear the cries of one of the many specters. One never knows when the restless spirits who reside in this charming village may choose to draw you into their haunted world! New ghost stories are always being added to our tours. Tours run every Saturday night at 8 pm. from June to November and meet at the corner of Main and Ferry St., by the Benjamin Parry Mansion. We do not require reservations, but please be prompt – the tour will depart at 8 pm. Tickets are $12/person.

Calling Young Writers - Phillips’ Mill Annual Play with Words Student Playwriting Challenge
This annual competition invites student writers from the region to showcase their creativity by crafting original short plays. A celebrated tradition at Phillips’ Mill, the challenge offers young playwrights aged 12 to 18 the chance to see their work brought to life by actors on stage. The first 50 submissions received will be considered by the judges.

10/24 – Glow Night Hike, Churchville Nature Center, 7-9pm., Join us for our Glow Night Hike on Friday, October 24th from 7-9pm! Using blacklights, our educators will search the trails for things that fluoresce under UV light. Afterwards, enjoy a toasted marshmallow around the campfire. 10/25 – Spooktacular Costume Contest & Parade, Doylestown, 9:30-1:30pm., Join us on Saturday, October 25th for a costume contest and trick-or-treating throughout downtown Doylestown. Advanced registration is strongly suggested and will open in late summer 2025! We'll be meeting at the lawn of the Bucks County Administration Building (55 E Court Street) and parading down Pine Street onto E State Street. After the costume contest wraps up, trick-or-treating will be happening throughout town. Look for stores and restaurants with orange and black balloons hanging outside. We'll have a printed list of participating locations at check-in.

10/25 - 'Oh God…Beautiful Machine', Patriots Theater at Trenton’s War Memorial, 7:30pm.The Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey (CPNJ) proudly presents the world premiere of Oh God…Beautiful Machine, a monumental symphonic jazz work which wrestles with the conundrum of loving the earth in a time of climate change. The collaboration features text composed by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Yusef Komunyakaa and music composed by Princeton University Composer-in-Residence, Vince di Mura.
Combining a full orchestra, jazz ensemble, traditional Chinese instrumentalists, and a women’s chorus, Oh God…Beautiful Machine is a genre-defying musical odyssey spanning ten movements and nearly 90 minutes. The evening will begin with a festival style event starting at 6:00 PM with a pre-concert performance, visual works by local artists, vendors and a lecture by the composer starting at 6:45 PM. The concert will be followed by a VIP reception open to Capital Philharmonic season subscribers, advertisers and sponsors.

10/29 - The Not Too Haunting Delaware Canal Walking Tour + Canal-O-Ween, 3:30-5pm., Meet at the intersection of Morgan and Fuld Avenues.
Tales of a maiden stuck in the mud, snapping turtles, muskrats, watermelon napping, an Underground Railroad connection, a flood escape route, and how Yardley grew when the Delaware Canal was dug through town will be told by Susan Taylor on a one-mile stroll down the Canal towpath and North and South Edgewater Avenues. A Halloween treat will be a view of Canal-O-Ween, Yardley’s now famous line-up of hundreds of carved pumpkins. This end-of-day view highlights the details of all the creativity. Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies for all at the end of the walk. As with our other walking tours, a $10 donation per person is requested. 10/30 – Trick or Treat for Grown-Ups, Crossing Vineyards & Winery, 7pm., Join us for a spooktacular evening, featuring some “scary” wine and sweets pairings, like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, M&Ms and candy corn. Want to come in costume? Go for it! Reservations necessary. Cost: $35pp
