Outdoor Winter Market continues twice a month through April! The Market is held the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month from 10 am -12 pm in Buttonwood Park, Yardley, Pa. The January Markets will be held on Jan. 6th & 20th. Our 20 vendors include a great variety of local farmers, bakers and makers. Shop local for seasonal fresh and prepared food, pastured chicken, meats and eggs, natural body products, condiments, bakery items, pickles and olives, coffee & tea, dog treats and more! 	January will be “Mel Brooks Month” at the historic Newtown Theatre During the month, the theatre will screen four of Brooks’ classic films, including *Young Frankenstein* on Thursday, January 11 at 3pm and 7:30pm. Frankenstein’s grandson Frederick inherits the family estate and discovers his grandfather’s private journal which contains the secret to reanimating life. A failing producer and his accountant scam a group of elderly women out of their nest eggs by convincing them to invest in a horrendously offensive Third Reich-themed musical secretly intended to bomb the moment it opens. Starring Nathan Lane, Matthew *Broderick, Mel Brooks, Will Ferrell and Uma Thurman* *Blazing Saddles* (1974) on Thursday, January 25 at 3 and 7:30 PM. In this satirical take on Westerns, crafty railroad worker Bart becomes the first black sheriff of Rock Ridge, a frontier town about to be destroyed in order to make way for a new railroad. Historic Newtown Theatre on State Street, Newtown PA www.thenewtowntheatre.com/events Capital Grille In Newtown is Underway The new 8,000-square-foot, 236-seat restaurant will be the first Capital Grille in Bucks County and the fourth in Pennsylvania. "Capital Grille is Darden's flagship restaurant. Darden is very selective as to where it opens a Capital Grille," said Kozar. "There are only 63 nationwide. The Capital Grille, which opened its first restaurant in Providence, Rhode Island in 1990, is best known for its expertly prepared steaks, which are dry-aged in-house for 18 to 24 days and then hand-cut by the restaurant's on-premise butcher. The gingerbread entries will be on exhibit during shopping hours through January 13, 2024 in the Visitor & Event Center. Newtown Rotary Club Casino Night Fundraiser Newtown Rotary Club is co-hosting a Casino Night with Chandler Hall on Saturday, February 3 from 7:00-11:00 p.m. This will be an upscale Vegas style event, with butlered hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and a band/DJ combo. As always, there will be free admission and parking! peddlersvillage.com/series/fire-frost-fun Take a Ride Through History on the Ten Crucial Days Bus Tour From the crossing of the Delaware through the subsequent American and British military engagements at Trenton, Princeton, and areas in-between, this tour will bring to life the history changing events of Washington's army between December 25, 1776 – January 3, 1777. The public bus tour will be offered on January 6th, 2024 from 9 AM to 4 PM. It begins and ends at Washington Crossing, PA. Historical interpreters Roger Williams and Larry Kidder will tell the remarkable story of the ten days that breathed crucial new life into the apparently expiring American Revolution. The events are discussed in the context of the local, strategically important central New Jersey towns, villages, and farms.Registration is required.
