Newtown's Nicole Steinberg Named 2021 Bucks County Poet Laureate
Nicole Steinberg of Newtown has been named the 2021 Bucks County Poet Laureate, officials at Bucks County Community College announced.
Steinberg, a published poet who works in marketing, was the winner among dozens of entrants in the 45rd annual contest, said Dr. Ethel Rackin, director of the poet laureate program administered by the college. The contest is sponsored by the Bucks County Commissioners. Steinberg will read from her works Sunday, Nov. 14, at Bucks County Community College in Newtown. The Bucks County Poet Laureate program – the longest-running such program in Pennsylvania – is another way that Bucks County Community College contributes to the cultural heritage of the region.

Outdoor Yardley Farmers Market Continues Through November 20th
Yardley Farmers Market continues in Buttonwood Park, Yardley Borough every Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm through November 20th. SNAP customers are welcome and receive a dollar for dollar match up to $10/market thanks to our partner, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church (stop at our market table for more info). Washington Crossing Park Renovation Update
Re-stuccoing has been completed on the Route 532 houses and new windows will continue to be installed in the coming weeks. All of the roofs are slated to be replaced but that work has been slightly delayed due to supply chain issues. It's hoped that roof work will begin in the next month or so. Exterior painting will be completed in the spring when it is warmer.
The foundation of the Hibbs House has been excavated and the building's below-ground masonry has been repaired and sealed for waterproofing. Foundation excavation has begun around the Frye House. New windows and doors and a new pad for the coal bin have been installed at the Blacksmith Shop.
Masonry work on the stone gateways by the Visitor Center flagpole and by Route 532 are now complete and construction fencing removed. The stone and mortar have been beautifully restored. Read more here: www.washingtoncrossingpark.org/renovations

First Look at the Renovated Newtown Theatre (Theatre Members Only)
Newtown Theatre members and donors are invited to one of three special events that will give you a first look at our new renovations.
Wednesday, December 1 at 7 PM, Thursday, December 2 at 7 PM and Saturday, December 4 at 7 PM. Each night will feature an hour of dessert and wine starting at 7 PM, followed by a screening of The Man Who Invented Christmas at 8 PM.
These events are free, but each night is limited to 125 guests..

11/13 - Yardley Farmers Market
The Summer Market is held weekly through November 20th. Yardley Farmers Market is a producer only market. Our mission is to promote sustainability through focusing on locally grown and sourced produce, meats and materials, while expanding marketing opportunities for local farmers, artisan food vendors and small businesses by providing increased access to the public. 11/13 and 11/14 - The Bucks County Wine Trail Nouveau Weekend
Wine lovers can taste the newest, fruitiest varieties of wine during the Bucks County Wine Trail's annual Nouveau weekend Nov. 13-14.
Nouveau wines are bottled young with little aging, offering light and sweet tastes. As is tradition in the Beaujolais region of France, the Bucks County wineries offer their own Nouveau from harvest.
Buckingham Valley Vineyards, Crossing Vineyards and Winery, Rushland Ridge Vineyards and Winery and Sand Castle Winery are offering Nouveau wine tastings during the event. Rose Bank Winery will feature the music of guitarist Tony Alosi on Nov. 14 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Bishop Estate Vineyard and Winery will offer horse-drawn wagon rides on Nov. 13, as well as wine crushing by feet photo opportunities. The winery will also release a new batch of its Maple Marquette and will host live music and food trucks throughout the weekend. *Please check with each winery to determine specific event times and details. Each winery sets its own hours and offerings.

11/13 and 11/14 - 74th Annual Antiques Show
The Bucks County Antiques Dealers Association proudly presents it's 74th Annual Antiques Show on November 13 and 14.
The event is at the Eagle Fire Hall on 46 Sugan Road in New Hope, PA 18938.
The times are Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, 11 AM to 4 PM. Admission fee is $6.00, Children under 16 enter free and plenty of free parking.

11/14 - HiTops Princeton Half Marathon
Iconic course located entirely in the heart of historic Princeton. Run through Princeton Battlefield, Institute for Advanced Study, past the home of Einstein, Princeton University, the Princeton Boathouse on Lake Carnegie Westminster Choir College, Mount Lucas and Herrontown Woods.
Receive a commemorative medal, shirt, and bib - direct shipping included in registration if desired. Participants cannot exceed a 14 minute per mile pace. Limited field of 1,200 runners. 7 AM Start, Paul Robeson Place, Princeton NJ

11/14 - Geocache the State Park
Use a hand-held GPS device to locate objects hidden in the state park!
This activity is being offered through the Nature Center at Washington Crossing State Park in Titusville, New Jersey. These programs are offered free of charge unless otherwise indicated. Attendance is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. All children must be accompanied by an adult. All programs will initially meet at the Nature Center unless otherwise indicated. In the event of inclement weather, some programs might be canceled. It is always advisable to call ahead before coming out.

 Lenape Valley Foundation will present this workshop for parents, caregivers and professionals will focus on some of the common symptoms, diagnoses, and struggles children and teens deal with as a result of their parents' divorce and how parents can help to support their children through this transition while also adjusting themselves. The workshop will be led by Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Alison Blum and Alexandra Pattison. 5:00 to 6:00 pm via Zoom

Roxey Ballet's "Nutcracker" production is a joyous and magical way to begin the holiday season.
