American Repertory Ballet brings the beloved classic Nutcracker to the stage with Tchaikovsky's magnificent score, thrilling choreography and a cast of more than 100. A holiday tradition for more than 50 years (1964), American Repertory Ballet's Nutcracker is one of the longest, continuously running Nutcracker productions in the nation. Directed by Artistic Director Douglas Martin, ARB's professional company will be joined by select students from Princeton Ballet School to tell the story of a young girl named Clara and how a mysterious gift from her Uncle Drosselmeyer brings about enchanted dreams and fantastical scenes. Rocco's Steakhouse Coming to Newtown - The restaurant area at Newtown's Brick Hotel will reopen in December as "Rocco's at The Brick." Cole Caprioni will be the Executive Chef, after 7 years as executive Chef for Nordstrom. Every dish at Rocco's at The Brick will feature fresh, sustainable produce, seafood and USDA Prime meats. Seasonal menus will feature a rotating specials list, an extensive seafood collection featuring mussel pots and a cold bar as well as USDA Prime Steaks and Chops. The 39th Annual Festival of Trees at the Pearl S. Buck House - Each year during this festival, the rooms of Pearl S. Buck's iconic Bucks County stone farmhouse come alive with the glow of holiday decorations. 11/4 - Beekeeping Class At Snipes Farm - Come to the Farm House at Snipes Farm for a beekeeping class with Paul Scutt. Paul brings 25 years of experience to this introductory course for people considering keeping their own bees. The class will cover the basic principles of bees: their physiology, the sociology of a hive, hive construction and inspection and harvesting honey. 12/2 - Roxey Ballet’s Nutcraker, Sensory-Friendly Performance - This year, the Roxey Ballet is proud to offer once again a Sensory-Friendly performance on December 2nd at 2pm for children and adults with ASD or other sensitivity issues or special needs. Adaptations to this performance include decreased sound levels, eliminating of special effects, and increased house lighting. Quiet areas will be available, and trained volunteers will be present throughout the theatre to assist and direct audience members. Resources such as pre-visit, social stories, and picture schedules are available on our website.
