From the earliest stages of learning and development, students at GNA are educated to their responsibility in justice to satisfy the needs of the poor and needy, and they take that opportunity very seriously. The Church Of Sacred Heart In Trenton, St. Mary’s Hospital Cancer Research, Hope 101, and Catholic Social Services were all recipients of student support.

Under The Tree: A Century of Holiday Trees and Toys
Doylestown’s Mercer Museum’s annual holiday exhibit captures the excitement of Christmas from a child’s point of view. The exhibit features trees decorated to the tastes of earlier eras, together with some of the toys and games that once delighted children on Christmas mornings. The display includes popular playthings from the Victorian Era through the 1980s. Period ornaments and appropriate reproductions adorn the trees, and show the evolution of Christmas traditions.

Shady Brook Farm Holiday Light Show Now in Season
Experience the magic of more than 3 million lights illuminating acres of farmland at Shady Brook Farm’s Holiday Light Show! 12/2 - Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol, in Newtown Borough. Alisa Dupuy of The Ladies of History Historical Productions, will be performing a one-woman show of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol at The Half Moon Inn. There will be a cocktail hour beforehand and we encourage people to have an early dinner in Newtown at one of the many fine eating establishments before the show which will begin at 7:30 pm. 12/3 - Six Passages for Opening Inner Awareness Through Sacred Hebrew Chant. Congregation Kol Emet of Yardley is pleased to announce a 1/2 day workshop that will be led by Pittsburgh Chant leader and composer David P. Goldstein on December 3, 2016. In this 4-hour workshop, we will learn 6 Passages for staying focused on what is important in our lives. 12/4 - McCaffrey's Food Markets Newtown Holiday Parade. The annual parade is a huge event that continues to provide a magical experience for the whole community. Hosted each year by the Newtown Business Association, it is a great opportunity for families to gather, line the streets, and enjoy! Participants will learn how to obtain information and hints from the Geocaching.com website, on the location of dozens of geocache sites in and around the state park. 12/10 - Elf: A Christmas Movie, Newtown Theatre. Today's Holiday movie is ELF at 3pm. 12/ 11 - First Crossing Reenactment on The Delaware. Join fellow citizens from around the country for a Bucks County tradition featuring several hundred reenactors clad in Continental military dress and George Washington himself. During the first crossing event, hundreds of troops row across the river in uniform just as they do on Christmas Day. The First Crossing event will be held 10 AM to 4 PM (actual crossing is at 1 PM). 12/ 11 - Jingle Bell Rides at Tyler State Park. Experience the fun of an old-fashioned country hayride pulled by huge Belgian Draft Horses wearing brass sleigh bells! 12/14 - Hanukkah Feast! (Ages 3-5). Celebrate Hanukkah with simple crafts and a festive feast. We will make holiday decorations using popsicle sticks, paint, and craft materials. 12/14 - An Evening with Penn Rhodeen. Please join the Newtown Bookshop as we welcome author, Penn Rhodeen on December 14th at 7pm. 12/15 - Ed Sullivan’s Holiday Celebrity Show, at Grundy Library. Actress and performance artist Barbara Weikamp brings to life celebrity musical portrayals in “Ed Sullivan’s Holiday Celebrity Show” at 7 pm at the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library. Along with her husband and collaborator Nick Dunn, Barbara Weikamp impersonates celebrities such as Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, Brenda Lee, Elvis, Gene Autry, Karen Carpenter and more, in full costume. 12/18 - A Christmas Carol: ASL-Interpreted For The Deaf and Hard of Hearing. A Christmas Carol will be performed at 3 pm. This show will be ASL-interpreted for the deaf and hard of hearing. 12/21 - Winter Solstice Walk. Instead of hunkering down and bemoaning the longest night of the year — also known as the winter solstice — celebrate with a stroll through the Preserve with Education Coordinator Kelly Joslin from 10 am - 11:30am. We’ll celebrate the joys of winter with a walk on the trails at a time when the sun is lowest in the sky and we experience the shortest days of the year. 12/21 - Garth Brooks Christmas Special Tribute Show. The Newtown Theatre will turn a little bit country when Tom Davis brings his Tom as Garth: Country Christmas Tour to Newtown. The show will feature Davis performing many of Garth Brooks’ hits, some country classics and a variety of Christmas favorites. General admission tickets are $15 and are only available online. 12/21 - Winter Solstice Night Hike & Campfire. Join us at 7pm for a night-time walk on the Trails to celebrate the Winter Solstice, complete with a warm campfire and marshmallows. 12/25 - Washington Crossing The Delaware Reenactment. The 64th annual Christmas Day crossing will be held from noon to 3 pm (actual crossing at 1 pm.) The Christmas Day crossing is free, and it is recommended that visitors arrive before 1 PM to ensure a good place along the viewing line. River crossings are contingent upon safe conditions for participants. However, even if conditions do not allow for crossing, ceremonies, speeches and commemorative activities still occur. 12/30 - Hike Out the Old Year. Join us for an invigorating 4-mile, year end roundtrip trek between the Virginia Forrest Recreation Area and the village of Lumberville. Meet at 10 am at the Virginia Forrest Recreation Area, 3292 River Road (PA Route 32, New Hope, PA 18938. The hike will be held unless it’s raining or snowing. 12/31 - New Years Eve Fireworks at Sesame Place. Don't miss our New Year's Eve fireworks show, set to Sesame Street music!
