Join the Friends of the Delaware Canal on Saturday, February 8, for a walk along the towpath to see the full "Snow Moon" rise above the hills of New Jersey and the Delaware River.  The walk will begin at 5 p.m. in the parking area between the Canal and River in the northern section of Washington Crossing Historic Park ,1635 River Road, New Hope, PA.
State Park Educator Katie Martens and Susan Taylor, Executive Director of the Friends, will lead the moderately-paced, four-mile roundtrip hike.  On the way north, walkers will look and listen for nocturnal critters, then arrive at a vantage point by Wells Falls to watch the “Snow Moon” rising.  From there, they will see Locks 8, 9, 10 and the canal outlet to the River.  At Lock 11, hot cider, snacks will be waiting inside the historic Locktender’s House.   After warming up, it will be time to head back to the starting point.
A $5 contribution is requested for the “Snow Moon” Towpath Trek, which may be paid on the day of the event. It will be held weather permitting. It will be canceled in the event of rain, total cloud cover, or hazardous conditions. Check for a Go/No Go message that will be posted by noon on February 8th at
