Gilbert & Sullivan's "Ruddigore", Delaware Valley University’s Life Sciences Theater
Friday June 20, 2025
Join the Bucks County Gilbert & Sullivan Society for Gilbert & Sullivan’s musical comedy “Ruddigore,” on Friday June 20 at 8:00 PM, Saturday June 21 at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and Sunday June 22 at 2:00 PM, in Delaware Valley University’s Life Sciences Theater, 700 East Butler Avenue, Doylestown (enter from New Britain Road to access the Life Sciences building). The show’s cast of top local singers is accompanied by the Bucks County Gilbert & Sullivan Orchestra. The theater group, now in its 16th year, presents this topsy-turvy musical of two brothers of the family Ruddigore, who are under an ancestral curse to commit a crime a day or else die a painful death. One brother flees and disguises himself to avoid the curse, and falls in love with a proper maiden; enter a bevy of professional bridesmaids, a sailor smitten by the same proper lass, a rogues' gallery of ancestral ghosts, and comedic mayhem breaks out -- all sung by an outstanding cast, and set to Sullivan’s resplendent music played by a 35-piece live orchestra. The show’s colorful ensemble sings delightful patter songs, ballads and choral pieces that are the hallmark of the G&S canon, making it fun for the whole family.

Young Frankenstein, Music Mountain Theatre
Friday June 20, 2025
It’s Alive! From the creators of Broadway‘s record-breaking musical comedy sensation, The Producers, comes Young Frankenstein, a monster of a hit musical based on Mel Brooks’ classic comedy film masterpiece. This wickedly inspired re-imagining of the legend of Frankenstein is the story of the bright young doctor Frankenstein (that's Fronkensteen) who travels to Transylvania to complete the masterwork of his grandfather by bringing a corpse to life. Young Frankenstein is a scientifically proven, monstrously good time at the theatre. Content Warning: Young Frankenstein contains mild language, suggestive humor, and innuendo consistent with Mel Brooks’ comedic style. Recommended for audiences ages 13 and up.
