Cultrual Streaming Series - Cory Wong in Montreal, Zlock Performing Arts Center

Take in recorded performances of leading classical and jazz artists, ensembles, and orchestras from around the world in the comfort of the Zlock Performing Arts Center. After working multiple gigs in jazz bands and as a session guitarist in Nashville, Cory Wong brought his talent and unique style into the wider public eye with a series of successful projects, notably with Ben Rector and Bryan White, before joining the band Vulfpeck in 2016. In this memorable concert at the prestigious Festival International de Jazz in Montreal, the ingenious guitarist and his talented band bring their irresistible groove to a selection of Wong's electrifying funk tunes — all executed with infectious energy, Wong's remarkably clean guitar tone, and the band's perfect mastery of rhythm coupled with the pure joy of their music. One, driven by a Hasidic Jew, veered off the road and critically injured two Black children, one of whom ultimately died. A crowd formed. Police arrived. What no one agreed on: Anything else. In the summer of 1991, Crown Heights, New York, exploded into three days of violence fed by rumors and competing narratives formed from incomplete facts. $52 to $62.

In 2007, a mysterious album featuring Nazi-era photographs arrived at the desk of a U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum archivist. As curators unraveled the shocking truth behind the images, the album soon made headlines and ignited a debate that reverberated far beyond the museum walls. Based on real events, Here There Are Blueberries tells the story of these historical photographs—what they reveal about the perpetrators of the Holocaust, and our own humanity.
