Nature for Toddlers: Owls, Washington Crossing Historic Park

Do you have a young nature lover in your family who's curious to learn more about the natural environment? Join the Park Naturalist for a morning of growing up on the wild side. These programs are designed for toddlers ages 3-7 and build on children's sense of wonder about nature, inviting them to explore wildlife and the world around them. Each Nature for Toddlers program will feature a different topic, October is Pennsylvania Owls! To register and receive the meeting location for this program please email mtruesdale@pa.gov.

Sukkot Luncheon, Congregations of Shaare Shamayim

Opening Reception, AOY Student & Faculty Show

At AOY Art Center, we believe exceptional teachers have the power to unlock the hidden potential within their students. We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Student and Faculty Show, a celebration of the incredible artistic growth within our community. This exhibition showcases work from our students—both youth and adults—spanning classes held from September 2023 through Summer 2024.

The exhibition opens on Friday, October 11, from 12-5 PM, with the Artists' Reception to follow on Friday, October 18, from 6-8 PM. The exhibition can also be viewed on our website at aoyarts.org.


“Fluttering Nights – Family-friendly Night Hike”, Silver Lake Nature Center

Join SLNC Educators on a Guided Nature Walk through the Forest after dark! The Trails are normally closed after dark, but for Participants of this very special event, they will be open! Let’s explore the Trails and see or hear who’s lurking about! Listen for the flutter of Bats in the Trees or the hoot of the Owls who call the Forest home! We’ll also follow up all this fun with a Campfire and Marshmallow Roast at the SLNC Amphitheater!!

$12/person or $10/person for Friends of SLNC Members. (If you’re not a Member, we hope you’ll become one soon. Click here to learn more and/or to sign up!) Advanced registration is required as space is limited.

Glow Hike & Campfire, Churchville Nature Center

Join us for the Glow Hike & Campfire on Friday, October 18th from 7-9 pm! Using blacklights, our educators will search the trails for things that fluoresce under UV light. Then enjoy a toasted marshmallow around the campfire. We have a limited number of blacklights, so guests are welcome to bring their own. Admission is $3 for CNC members and $5 for non-members. Registration is required.

Makefield Women’s Association 9th Annual Designer Bag Bingo

The bags are wrapped and ready to be won! MWA’s
9th Annual Designer Bag Bingo will feature trendy designer bags, themed
raffle baskets, 50/50, special bingo extras, door prizes, and our famous
Luxury Raffle valued at over $2,000. The event will be held on Friday, October 18th, at St. Frances Cabrini
Catholic Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road in Fairless Hills, PA.  Doors
open at 5:30, and bingo starts at 7:00 p.m. Makefield Women’s Association is a local nonprofit that raises
awareness and funds for community organizations that help women and
children in need, the homeless and hungry, and so many others in Bucks County

Rosanne Cash with John Leventhal, McCarter Theatre

Rosanne Cash and John Leventhal will revisit the music and stories behind The Wheel, celebrating the album's 30th anniversary. Co-produced by Cash and Leventhal, The Wheel marked a pivotal reinvention in Cash's career and the beginning of their creative partnership. Together, they have produced seven albums and numerous side projects, including the Grammy-winning The River & the Thread. Cash, a four-time Grammy-winning composer and bestselling author, has also collaborated with prestigious institutions like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Leventhal, a six-time Grammy winner, joins her for a must-see return to McCarter.
