12:00 PM

In partnership with the Garden Club of Bristol Borough, the Grundy Museum welcomes Michael Bowell for a presentation titled "Orchids: Cultivating Refined Beauty." Please join us in the Grundy Library Snyder Room at 680 Radcliffe St, Bristol, PA 19007 on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 12:00 PM. This program is free and light refreshments will be served. Registration opens on Monday, January 15th and is required for attendance.

Michael Bowell, owner and lead garden designer at Create A Scene Inc., started his life-long orchid adventure in the 1970's whilst attending Cook College, the Agricultural College at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Michael is a Horticulturist by vocation and avocation. He has participated in many flower and orchid shows along the East Coast. His garden business, Create A Scene, designs and develops gardens in the Philadelphia area and in the Jersey Shore towns of Longport and Margate City. Michael has also participated for years in both Commercial and Hobbyist exhibitions at the Philadelphia Flower Show, Chester County Flower Show and SEPOS Shows, winning many Best-in-Show and AOS Show Trophies.

The Museum has enjoyed the partnership created between Michael and Staff to bring our vision of Margaret's Garden, the South Lawn, and River Park Terrace Gardens to fruition. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Michael and his staff at Create A Scene; they are all honorary members of the Grundy Museum team!

Book (and Puzzle Swap), Yardley

Saturday February 10, 2024
1:00 PM

Here’s a way to grapple with winter.

Clear some books from your shelves and bring them to the Swap. Then trade them for a supply of new-to-you books.  Those jigsaw puzzles that you received as gifts and have  finished already are welcome, too.

Please bring no more than 10 (ten) books of current interest to adults and/or children.  And please remember that it’s a swap, not a drop event.

We had to change our policy regarding incoming items since our storage space is limited to just three book shelves.  We also ask that you find another home for self-help books or dated guides since they are seldom selected.

Think spring and bring and take some gardening books!
