35th Annual Donald Jones Flag Memorial

Sunday June 13, 2021
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

35th Donald W Jones Flag Memorial presented by Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans An inspirational display of over 65,000 American Flags in the shape and size of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, DC. Each flag representing an American.

We originally focused on the Vietnam Era but have since moved to recognize all Veterans and POW/MIA's. There is a second memorial representing present the most recent conflicts. The main task is the placement of flags in a large diamond-like shape. We setup the outline and the flags are placed inside with a black field in the center representing those still unaccounted for.

Sunday June 13th

12:00 PM Motorcycle Run from Bristol Township Bldg to Falls Park. Ceremonies begin after motorcycle arrival. Speeches, salute, and a conversion of the number of black POW flags to American flags for all who have been recovered since last year. Then about ½ hour after ceremony we replace all flags back in totes.

Bucks Beautiful Garden Tour

Sunday June 13, 2021
11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

On Sunday June 13th we invite you to visit six hidden jewels that have never been publicly shown.  Wear comfortable shoes on this tour throughout Doylestown’s charming streets as three gardens are walking distance from one another and three are a short drive from town.
The inspiring mix of gardens selected this year range from a quaint cottage to a historic estate.  Bucks County Master Gardeners will be on hand to offer expertise as you peruse specimen trees, beloved perennials, colorful annuals, container succulents, ponds, water features, and vegetable gardens so popular these days.  Most properties feature dining areas that will be adorned with fresh flower arrangements courtesy of our generous local florists.

Brett King, a certified remodeler, and his client, have invited us to view a recent estate renovation and to stroll around the expansive landscaped property.  This is a rare opportunity to walk through this residence and will be a special addition to the tour.
Gatekeepers will be stationed at each property to ensure that masks are worn and to oversee social distancing protocols are met.  Included with your ticket purchase will a booklet with maps, photos and descriptions of each garden, plus a garden bag filled with fun gifts for the first 400 guests.

Online Concert – Florilegium, Musical Flowers of the late Renaissance. Michal Gondko, Lute

Sunday June 13, 2021
3:00 PM

La Fiocco is thrilled to host an online concert featuring Michal Gondko, renaissance lute, in a program of rarely-heard music of the late 16th and early 17th centuries.  Michal will take us on a musical journey from Italy, to his native Poland, to some of the many German principalities, and finally to the England of Elizabeth I and James I.  Selections include dances pieces, variation settings, and improvisatory preludes and fantasias. Michal will perform on a 7-course lute in G by Paul Thomson (1996) after Wendelio Venere (based on c. 1582) and a 7-course lute in A by Stephen Murphy (2017) after Jacob Hes (1586)

Michal  Gondko has toured the United States, Europe, the Middle East, China, and Japan.  He was born in Warsaw, Poland, where, as a child, he studied classical guitar.  He was introduced to the lute as a teenager, a life-changing event that took him to the Schola Cantorum in Basel, where he studied with Hopkinson Smith.  Michal has remained in Basel.  He is founder and, along with his wife Corina Marti, artistic co-director of the medieval and early Renaissance ensemble La Morra, and has recorded for the Ramée/Outhere label.  He is a recipient of the Polish Recording Producers’ Award (Fryderyk).

Please join us for this event. Tickets are $10 for individuals and $20 for households. Or consider being an event sponsor ($50, partially tax deductible) or benefactor ($100, partially tax deductible). The concert will open on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 3:00 PM ET (US) and will be available to ticketholders until Saturday, June 19, 2021, 6:00 PM ET.  A Zoom reception will follow the concert opening on June 13th.  We hope to see you there!

La Fiocco performs instrumental and vocal music of the late Renaissance, Baroque, and early Classical eras. La Fiocco presents an annual series of three concerts each at Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury, Pennsylvania, and at the 1867 Sanctuary in Ewing, New Jersey. We also perform at other venues in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts
