Saturday October 17, 2020
9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

While the Covid-19 pandemic requires that we do things differently this year, we will still offer our beautiful grounds for safe, outdoor fun and relaxation.  We invite you to bring a picnic, stroll the grounds and enjoy the following activities: pumpkin patch, farm animals, straw bale maze, giant hay pyramid, wooden maze, Land of Scarecrows, farm scavenger hunt, playground, nature trail and farm museum.

Because of the pandemic we cannot host large events and some of the activities our visitors have been used to in the past.  We will not be able to offer the corn maze, hayrides, apple picking, birthday parties, bonfires.  We will, however, host several drive-in movies and concerts!

Find the perfect pumpkin in the pumpkin patch!

Be awed by the horse power we counted on for so many generations and find beautiful wagons, carriages and sleighs in the Old Time Farm Museum

Meet our sweet goats, ducks, bunnies, chickens and quail!

Go on a scavenger hunt to find amazing trees- some small,  some giants!

Enjoy your time in the Land of Scarecrows where you'll find Dorothy and the Wizard, ballroom dancing, juggling and jump roping scarecrows!

Take a walk on the enchanted trail through the woods where you'll find a scarecrow at every bend (whimsy-nothing haunted!)

Of course look forward to our freshly pressed apple cider, fresh baked pies and apple cider donuts

Shopping at Snipes Farm Market:  pumpkins, gourds, straw bales, Halloween decorations, fresh veggies, flowers, fresh baked pies, candy and caramel apples and of course, our own fresh pressed apple cider!

Admission to farm:  $7.00.  Children ages two and under, free. Admission includes:  pumpkin patch, farm animals, straw bale maze, giant hay pyramid, wooden maze, Land of Scarecrows, farm scavenger hunt, playground, nature trail, farm museum. Pay at the door!

All proceeds from our Fall Weekends support Snipes Farm and Education Center's mission to model and teach sustainable farming while building community and reconnecting people to the land.

“Greetings From Yardley” Mural Dedication Ceremony

Experience Yardley requests your attendance at their  “Greetings From Yardley” mural dedication ceremony

This Saturday, October 17th from Noon to 1 pm, Experience Yardley, an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit dedicated to producing events and placemaking projects, is inviting the public to a dedication ceremony for their “Greetings From Yardley” mural painted on the wall of Firehouse Cycles located at Buttonwood Plaza Drive 15 S. Main Street in Yardley. Experience Yardley is gifting the mural, based on popular vacation postcards from the 1930s and 1940s, to Yardley Borough residents.

According to Jef Buehler, past president of Experience Yardley, “Since there is only one Yardley in America and for that matter, in the entire Western Hemisphere we thought: let’s put something on that wall in the center of town that people will recognize as an icon - sort of a modern-day postcard that they can use on Instagram and social media to say, ‘Hey I’m from Yardley, and it’s awesome!’ or ‘I visited Yardley, and it was awesome!’, because, let’s face it, not a ton of people still send postcards, but pretty much everyone shares digital memories and moments. So why not #GreetingsFromYardley.”

Steadfast support has come from many, including Yardley Borough Council, the Historical Architectural Review Board (HARB), Tom Cramer of Cramer’s Bakery (owner of the old firehouse building which the mural is painted), The Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, and Visit Bucks County. Other sponsors include Commonplace Books, Ship and Print, and The Spearhead Group, all Yardley businesses located on Main Street.

Led by David Appelbaum, president of Experience Yardley, includes Heather DiPrato, vice-president (co-publisher of Yardley Living), Cindy Fatsis, secretary (owner, Local Focus Photography), and Liz Young, treasurer, (owner, Commonplace Books). The group has worked closely with Tony Napoli, an artist who submitted the design best representing the people, history, and beauty of Yardley Borough. Buehler said, “Experience Yardley is absolutely thrilled to have Tony Napoli, fine art painter and much beloved former Pennsbury High School Art Department chair heading up the painting of the “Greetings From Yardley” mural along with many former students and admirers.“

A cake decorated by Cramer’s Bakery to look like the mural will be served on a first-come-first-served basis. The ceremony is rain or shine. Wearing masks is requested.
