Interview of Candidates for Newtown Board of Supervisors

The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors will be holding special meetings on January 23, January 24, and January 25, 2020 (IF NECESSARY) at 5:00 PM, in the Public meeting room of the administration building, 100 Municipal Drive, Newtown PA 18940, to interview candidates and appoint a new member of the Board of Supervisors to fill the current vacancy.

The Supervisors serve on a part-time basis. They enact Ordinances and Resolutions, issue Proclamations, approve land development plans and other land use applications, approve annual budgets and all expenditures, levy taxes, affirm hiring and termination of Township employees, make appointments to dozens of advisory boards, committees, commissions and task forces which serve the Township.


Pennsbury Student Work at Artists of Yardley, Opening Reception

The AOY Art Center, a Pennsbury Partner, will host the fourth annual gallery show of adjudicated Pennsbury student work on two weekends.

A wide variety of student work in many different media will be exhibited, including paintings, drawings, sculpture, and digital photography. The public is invited to an opening reception at the center on Friday, January 24th from 6:00-8:00 p.m., and the show will continue that Saturday and Sunday, January 25-26th, and the following weekend, February 1st-2nd. Gallery hours on the weekends are 12:00-5:00 p.m. 

AOY Art Center is located on Patterson Farm at 949 Mirror Lake Road in Yardley, Lower Makefield Township


Tony Foliano Jazz Duo Dinner Show

Hue Entertainment is proud to partner with Makefield's Public House this winter in presenting this special music series.  There will be some great Friday Happy Hours featuring classic rock, two great jazz nights and an acoustic rock trio. 

Plus, we are very excited to be bringing a special concert and dinner event featuring our hometown hero from The Voice, Yardley's own Matthew Schuler.

Newtown Theatre to Screen Legendary Concert Film “The Last Waltz”

The historic Newtown Theatre will screen “The Last Waltz” on Friday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. 
The Last Waltz was a farewell concert by the rock group The Band, held on Nov. 25, 1976 in San Francisco. During the concert, The Band was joined by more than a dozen guests, including Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Ringo Starr, Muddy Waters and Neil Young. The event was filmed by Martin Scorsese and made into a documentary that was released in 1978. Today, it is considered one of the greatest concert films ever made. 
Tickets for this one-time showing are $12 for adults, $10 for senior and students, and $6 for theatre members. Tickets will only be sold at the door starting an hour before show time. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the theatre before the movie.
