Back by popular demand, “Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Playhouse Christmas Show” returns to delight audiences of all ages again in 2019. Five quick-changing actors play dozens of roles in this fast, funny and highly theatrical reimagining of one of the most beloved holiday stories ever told. Terrorizing the good citizens of Bucks County, Ebenezer Scrooge’s rediscovery of the Spirit Christmas comes in this riotous Dicken’s mashup set in New Hope.

Holiday Open House at Aldie Mansion

Open house from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
The Bucks County Choral Society will perform at 5:30 PM.

William and Martha Mercer loved celebrating the holidays with friends and neighbors at Aldie Mansion. Heritage Conservancy continues the tradition by opening the mansion doors for one day to share the magic of the season. Experience the dazzling decorations and glowing fireplaces while sipping hot cider and hot chocolate.

This event is free and all are welcome. A Chamber Choir from the Bucks County Choral Society (see below) will perform a short concert at the 5:30 PM start.

Shady Brook Farm's Holiday Light Show

Open Nightly Through January 5, 2020
Experience the magic of more than 3 million lights illuminating acres of farmland at Shady Brook Farm’s Holiday Light Show! Encounter whimsical displays and familiar characters as you drive through in the comfort of your own car or enjoy the show on an open air wagon ride (weather permitting). The two mile trail takes about 20 min. to drive through if you’re taking your time to enjoy the sights (on a non-busy night).

Stay after the show to sit by a cheery bonfire, enjoy the sounds and sights of the Tree of Hope, and toast up some s’mores, enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and funnel cakes. Available for sale: s’mores kits & fixin’s, hot cocoa, locally brewed craft beers, Rose Bank Winery wines, hot Bavarian pretzels, kettle corn and more.

Make Reed Deer Ornaments at Tyler State Park

Christine Applegate will lead us in making these adorable deer woven from basket reed.  During the span of the class, you should be able to make 1-2 deer and will receive instructions to take with you. 

As we work, we'll discuss the white-tailed deer, its anatomy, natural history, and role in society through time.

Christine is a member of the Handweavers of Bucks County, a Master Gardener, a 4-H leader, and an educator at Churchville Nature Center’s Lenape Village.
