Holiday Open House at Aldie Mansion

Open house from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM William and Martha Mercer loved celebrating the holidays with friends and neighbors at Aldie Mansion. Heritage Conservancy continues the tradition by opening the mansion doors for one day to share the magic of the season. Experience the dazzling decorations and glowing fireplaces while sipping hot cider and hot chocolate. This event is free and all are welcome. A Chamber Choir from the Bucks County Choral Society (see below) will perform a short concert at the 5:30 PM start. PLEASE NOTE: If you have a guided tour scheduled between 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM and you have questions, you can contact our main line at 215-345-7020 or email Carryn at cgolden@heritageconservancy.org. Tours start promptly on time. Tours are free, but a $5 per person suggested donation is appreciated at the door.

Make Reed Deer Ornaments at Tyler State Park

Christine Applegate will lead us in making these adorable deer woven from basket reed. During the span of the class, you should be able to make 1-2 deer and will receive instructions to take with you. As we work, we'll discuss the white-tailed deer, its anatomy, natural history, and role in society through time. Christine is a member of the Handweavers of Bucks County, a Master Gardener, a 4-H leader, and an educator at Churchville Nature Center’s Lenape Village.
