The Power of Healing Plants: Learn How to Make A Salve with herbalist, Charlotte Wells

This Fall class will focus on medicinal roots and cold-hearty aerial plants. A foraging walk will reveal various plants still in bloom and energy transferring from aerial seed production to the roots. Back at the Farm House Charlotte will lead a salve-making workshop blending herbal oils with beeswax. Everyone will leave with an herbal infused salve and instructions to take home. Autumn Market & Encampment, Washington Crossing Park

Browse a colonial marketplace and watch soldiers drill 18th-century military tactics from 10 AM to 4 PM.

During this event, colonial townspeople will gather at their marketplace in the historic village area of the park to sell their wares while soldiers drill 18th-century military tactics. The park’s fife and drum corps will perform throughout the day.

Families will enjoy a wide array of activities including crafts, cooking demonstrations, tours of historic buildings, and one-on-one interaction with colonial reenactors.

Admission to Autumn Encampment & Market is $8 for adults, $4 for children age five to 11, and free for those under five. Attendees also receive free admission to the park’s Thompson-Neely House, the restored Grist Mill, and Bowman’s Hill Tower that day.

This event will be held rain or shine.


Oktoberfest Celebration, Snipes Farm

Snipes Farm & Education Center and Mommy's Lil' Black Book are excited to bring YOU an Oktoberfest celebration Saturday October 19th, 2019 that the entire family can enjoy!

We'll have hayrides to the pumpkin patch corn maze, live entertainment, dance performances, food trucks, hay pyramid, a beer & wine garden (12-5pm), inflatables, balloon art, face painting, costume characters, vendors and more! Admission is $6 per person (ages 3 and up).

Children can purchase an unlimited wristband from Got Bounced to jump on the inflatables all day for just $5! Pick your own pumpkins can be purchased by the lb. Rain date is 10/20.

From the drum set Sherrie leads The DIVA Jazz Orchestra, her quintet FIVE PLAY, The DIVA Jazz Trio and co-leads the 3Divas. From Carnegie Hall, she performs with The New York Pops and from celebrated stages everywhere, she is music director and drummer for Broadway star Maurice Hines. Sherrie is also a busy freelance performer and a published composer/arranger.
