An early 20th century postcard view of the terminus of the Delaware Canal.
Twelve new signs were installed in Historic Bristol Borough on July 22.  They follow the path where the Delaware Canal once flowed from the Lagoon to the Delaware River.

Join Susan Taylor for a guided, 2-mile round trip walk to discover the new signs, their sites, and their stories.

Come to Historic Bristol Borough on July 27 and let the new series of interpretive signs lead you on a walk of discoveries about the town’s rich canal history.  And while you’re by the River, revel in music, dancing, and food at the 48th Annual Puerto Rican Day Festival.

On our walk from the River to Jefferson Avenue, we’ll find out about steamboats, the Ring, the Basin, Locks 1,2,3; a pioneering industrial development zone; two unique bump bridges; and more.

Meet at the southeast corner of the municipal parking lot behind Mill Street.  The Google Maps address is 150 Basin Park, Bristol, PA 19007.   We’ll be by the River near the Harriet Tubman statue.

There is no charge for this guided walk, and reservations are not required.  Donations are gratefully accepted for Canal improvement efforts.
