Penndel-Hulmeville Memorial Day Parade

The Penndel-Hulmeville Memorial Day Parade is set for 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, May 25.

It will start on Ford Avenue in Hulmeville and run down Main Street, Hulme Street and Bellevue Avenue before continuing into Penndel to Crescent Street and Hulmeville Avenue, ending at the Penndel Recreation fields.

An afternoon ceremony is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday at Memorial Park, at Bellevue Avenue and Neshaminy Street. The ceremony will include live speeches and music. It is sponsored by the Hulmeville Historical Society.

SOLAR OBSERVATION  (all ages) Saturday May 25, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. View magnetic sun storms safely through special filters via a telescope. Observe sun spots, solar flares, prominences and other solar phenomena. Learn how these storms can affect the earth as well as other interesting facts about Earth’s closest star. Jennifer and Dave Skitt and possibly other members of the Amateur Astronomer’s Association of Princeton will lead this activity. Clear skies required. Park vehicle entrance Fee: $5.00/car. Rain date: Monday May 27, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Looking for an excuse to get outside on a beautiful spring evening? On Saturday, May 25 at 6 PM, bring a picnic dinner down to the riverfront near the Visitor Center for a free live jazz concert at Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA).
 
No registration is required.
 
The jazz band performing is the The Triple Ts, a jazz-fusion trio based in Philadelphia. Performing original music and arrangements of forgotten pop classics, they have toured the US following the release of their album, The Session Vol. 1. They have performed in Philadelphia at places like Chris’ Jazz Cafe, World Cafe Live and The Franklin Institute.
 
If it rains, the concert will be held in the Visitor Center auditorium.
