Pastor Paul is about to preach a sermon that will shake the foundation of his congregation’s beliefs. The shocking revelation of his sermon has powerful consequences. For believers and non-believers alike, The Christians is a “terrific play about the mystery of faith, and how religion can tear people apart just as it can bring them together” (The New York Times).

In the tradition of Inherit the Wind, An Enemy of the People, and A Witness for the Prosecution, The Christians will feature local community members alongside professional actors.

Villa 5K Color Run

Villa Joseph Marie High School is hosting its first-ever 5K Color Run! One hundred percent of proceeds from the run will benefit Catholic Relief Services. The CRS mission includes serving the poor and those in need and promoting human development and integrity throughout the United States and across the globe. CRS serves others by providing food and clean water, offering health and agricultural education, advocating for peace and social justice, promoting the full potential and dignity of all citizens and, most importantly, by providing emergency response and recovery services.

Day of Event Schedule:

8:30-9:00 a.m.: Registration and Check-In
9:30 a.m.: Color Run 1K Begins
10:00 a.m.: Color Run 5K Begins
Following the 5K Race: Color blast, awards, prizes, and fun!

Battle of the Wilderness Civil War Reenactment May 4-5, 2019

At the Double Quick Civil War Events presents “No Turning Back!”, a  Reenactment of the 1864 Battle of the Wilderness that took place in Virginia.

Join us for this family-friendly event and walk through history in your own back yard as hundreds of Confederate and Union army troops reenact this brutal battle.  Soldiers and civilians will display period equipment and represent the various aspects of encampment life.

Sutlers will be on hand selling their 19th century wares, and food and beverages will be available for purchase.  

The event takes place on Saturday, May 4th from 9am to 5pm and on Sunday, May 5th from 9am to 3pm.  Spectator battles are planned each day at 1pm.

Admission is FREE!

Donations will be accepted for Battlefield Preservation.

ALL VISITORS SHOULD ENTER AT THE EVENT GATE ENTRANCE ON BRISTOL ROAD ACROSS FROM HATBORO ROAD.

9th Annual Washington Crossing Brewfest

The ninth annual Washington Crossing Spring Brewfest – which sells out every year – will be held on Saturday, May 4 from 12:30 to 4:30 PM in a wooded, riverside section of Washington Crossing Historic Park behind the Thompson-Neely House.

The event features sampling of at least 130 beers from more than 60 regional and national breweries, live music and multiple food vendors.

The brewfest is held by the non-profit Friends of Washington Crossing Park, and all proceeds are directed to educational and historical programming in the park.

Comedian Rich Vos will return to the Newtown Theatre on Saturday, May 4 at 8 PM. Doors open about an hour before the show.

Rich Vos is a comic with sharp, insightful material and the ability to work the crowd. He's landed many television appearances on everything from Def Jam to The View. Rich was the breakout star of NBC's Last Comic Standing seasons 1 and 3, a regular guest on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, and a writer for Chris Rock when he hosted the Academy Awards in 2005.
