Nov 30-Dec 16, 2018

It's Christmas time in the year 1183, and King Henry has gathered his rebellious queen and his warring sons to discuss who will be the next king. Henry's young mistress and the king of France are there, too. What can go wrong? The tone is comedic but the stakes are dead serious.

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Our parade is a huge event that continues to provide a magical experience for the whole community.  Hosted each year by the Newtown Business Association, it is a great opportunity for local business to get involved and for families to line the streets to watch a spectacular event.   Last year over 50 groups participated, totaling over 1800 people.  Come out and find a comfy spot to watch this amazing event on Sunday, December 2, 2018.   The parade promptly kicks off at 2PM from South State Street at the Stocking Works.  It then continues north to Washington Avenue and makes a left turn, then turns right onto Sycamore Street.  The Parade eventually ends at the corner of Sycamore Street and Durham Road.

The annual NBA/McCaffrey's Newtown Holiday Parade will surely be an exciting event because all participants are required to be creative and showcase a festive holiday theme!

Sunday December 2, 2018
3:00 PM

The Eric Mintel Quartet will kick off the holiday season at the historic Newtown Theatre with a jazz concert on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 3 p.m., featuring the music from “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and a selection of original songs. Tickets are $20 in advance through TheNewtownTheatre.com or $25 at the door on the day of the concert.
“A Charlie Brown Christmas” first aired in 1965. The animated TV special has gone on to become a holiday staple for every generation since. While the Peanuts gang was at the height of its popularity in the mid-sixties, the special drew added attention for its unorthodox jazz score by pianist Vince Guaraldi.
The Eric Mintel Quartet is comprised of pianist and composer Eric Mintel, saxophonist Nelson Hill, flutist Jack Hegyi, and drummer Dave Mohn.
The theatre is located at 120 N. State Street in Newtown Borough.
