Beginning in PreK with our exceptional lower school program, and continuing throughout Middle and Upper School, students are guided towards learning and discovery by dynamic, skilled and dedicated teachers. At PDS, teachers seek to foster each student’s individual needs and interests both inside and outside of the classroom. They orchestrate learning and pose questions in a way that challenges students to broaden their thinking and ask big questions.

We invite you to visit our campus for an open house or a group tour. Drop-ins are always welcome, but a registration is appreciated so we know how many visitors to expect. We look forward to meeting you.

Thursday October 18, 2018
6:30 PM

Join us for a haunted ghost tour and whiskey tasting!

We will stop at 6 different supernatural sites, the first five of which will include its own terrifying tale and complimentary whiskey pairing! Our sixth and final stop will be at the old paper mill…Triumph Brewery! Here, after chilling your spine, we will attempt to soothe your unease with a Halloween craft cocktail!

For those that are not yet aware, the streets of New Hope are notoriously haunted - quite possibly the most haunted town in America!

Located along the scenic Delaware River, New Hope has history dating back to before the Revolutionary war. The town's history and that of American whiskey in Pennsylvania parallel in many ways. Let’s discover where their stories cross. Each whiskey is thoughtfully paired with each of the six haunted sites on the tour. (Each pairing will involve what may have been historically accurate or what may have been available at the local tavern when each spirit lived and walked these very streets...)

Thursday October 18, 2018
7:30 PM

The Yardley Historical Association will present “Yardley’s Ferry and Crossing the Delaware in 1776,” an illustrated program by historian Larry Kidder on Thursday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m.  The program will be held in the Old Library by Lake Afton, 46 West Afton Avenue, Yardley, PA  19067.

Yardley’s Ferry was one of several that took passengers and freight across the Delaware River in the 18th century. During the critical month of December 1776, elements of George Washington’s army made many crossings, in both directions, related to the planned battle at Trenton, NJ. The crossing of the Delaware River on Christmas night in 1776 is one of the most widely known events of the American Revolution.

For more information about this free presentation and other activities of the Yardley Historical Association, call 215-369-1479, e-mail info@yardleyhistory.org, or visit http://www.yardleyhistory.org.
