Saturday October 6, 2018
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Market Day is an annual outdoor event that celebrates the colonial tradition of local farmers & homesteaders bringing their crops, livestock, and homemade wares into town to sell to neighbors & townspeople. It is our proud tradition to feature high-quality crafters, artisans & fine artists; colonial-era demonstrations, reenactments & activities; farm stands; entertainment for all ages; and food from local restaurants.
Historic Market Day was first held on Saturday, September 17, 1977. It was a day of festivities and contests, culminating in a horse race down State Street. We invite all to come, and be a part of history. This event is organized by a team of dedicated volunteers and community members. All proceeds from Market Day support the Newtown Historic Association.
