Free Family Birding Event, Washington Xing Park

On Saturday, August 4, stop by the riverside area outside the Visitor Center between 10 AM and noon to join the park naturalist for an informal birding program. We will provide binoculars and field guides for your use, but feel free to bring your own. We’ll watch for waterfowl and compile a master list of the species we observe. You’ll learn how to properly adjust binoculars for your eyesight and why they’ve become a favorite tool for birders of all experience levels.

All ages and experience levels are welcome.

Join Washington Crossing Historic Park’s environmental educator on a relaxing paddle of our lagoon on Saturday, August 4, from 1 to 2:30 PM. We’ll explore the plant and animal community and talk about what makes wetlands wonderful. Kayaks, paddles and PFDs will be provided.
 
Meet at the Route 532 parking lot near the lagoon/Delaware Canal Towpath entrance. There is a suggested donation of $5 per person for this program.
