Cook the Book, a quarterly book club for people to discuss and share their cooking adventures, continues this summer at the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe Street in Bristol Borough. Join us when we discuss and cook what makes perfect brunch food! This is a great opportunity for cooks of all ages, skill levels and interests to share their love of cooking while trying new recipes from the library's cookbook collection.

To participate, begin by registering in-person, online at http://www.grundylibrary.org, or by calling 215.788.7891, then visit the Grundy Library and choose a recipe from among the three cookbooks selected for the discussion. Staff will photocopy your selected recipe, giving you a copy as a participant and keeping a copy on-hand to avoid duplication. Lastly, you make one recipe and bring it to the book club meeting. While sampling and tasting the various foods, we will discuss techniques and any substitutions used in making the recipe. The Library provides the plates, napkins & utensils.

Journey back in time to board the Show Boat, Oscar Hammerstein and Jerome Kern’s timelessly romantic musical tale of the lives of three generations born on the Cotton Blossom as it sails the Mississippi River from the 1880s to the 1920s.

Bucks County Playhouse is proud to present a world-premiere concert adaptation of the groundbreaking 1927 musical in a one-night-only benefit event. A cast of top Broadway talent will perform Hammerstein and Kern’s iconic score with narration by Ted Chapin and direction by Josh Rhodes (BCP’s Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Playhouse Christmas Show.)
