Octagonal Schoolhouse Tours

Sunday October 16, 2022
1:00 PM

Wrightstown Township Historical Commission is hosting open houses at the Octagonal Schoolhouse, located at the corner of Swamp Road and Second Street Pike (Rte 232), in Wrightstown Township, once a month beginning in May.

You are invited to experience and tour the Octagonal Schoolhouse, a historic one-story, one-room stone schoolhouse building that was in operation from 1802 to 1850. This is the only remaining octagonal schoolhouse in Bucks County, currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

After its time as a schoolhouse, it was used as a farm outbuilding, and then became an artist's studio in the 1980s. Wrightstown Township Historical Commission restored the building in 1996.

All open houses will occur between 1:00 and 5:00 pm, on the following Sundays: May 15th, June 19th, July 17th, August 21st, September 18th, and October 16th. There is no charge for admission.

Contact Betty Davis at (215) 598-7534 or Mary Lee Johnson at (215) 870-2013 for more information.

Native Gardens, A Comedy by Langhorne Players

3:00 PM

Native Gardens is a comedy that follows a young Hispanic couple, lawyer Pablo and pregnant doctoral candidate Tania, who move in next door to Frank and Virginia, two white stalwarts of the DC community. A feud over a property line that will destroy Frank's perfectly manicured garden while restoring Pablo & Tania's legal land ownership spirals into a hilarious war of class and privilege in Karen Zacarias's "biting, perceptive, and ultimately hopeful sendup to our fraught relationships with those around us" (DC Theatre Scene).
