Newtown Historic Association welcomes the community to join together for Newtown Boroughs annual tradition of Market Day on Saturday, October 1st from 10am - 4pm. Market Day is a celebration of Newtown's beginnings, paying homage to what life was like when farmers and craftspeople brought livestock, produce and hand forged wares to town to sell to the community. Market Day has evolved over the last 45 years to include over 100 fine artists and craftspeople of Bucks County, welcoming incredible talent. There will be a schedule of events for the day, including live music, artisan food and fun traditional events like a pie eating and corn shucking contest. Plenty for the children as well with scarecrow stuffing, a puppet show and historic reenactments in a colonial setting. This year's Market Day weekend will kick off with a celebration on Friday evening, September 30th at Newtown Theater with a cocktail party and celebration of the last 100 years through the sharing of memories and photos by Newtownians. Hosted by Newtown’s own Marty Moss-Coane guests will be transported back through the last 100 years of life in Newtown. Newtown Historic Association, 105 Court St, Newtown, PA, 18940.
