Thursday December 12, 2019
6:00 PM

The staff of the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Museum invite you to an evening of festive table settings and lavish dining customs from the Victorian Era with a holiday flair at 6:00 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the Grundy Library, 680 Radcliffe Street. Join us to see collections from the Grundy Museum on display and hear a presentation given by Grundy Museum Curator, Geoffrey Webster. Guests will enjoy a selection of Victorian style refreshments and learn just what all those forks are for.

The Grundy Museum at 610 Radcliffe Street was once the home of Senator Joseph R. Grundy and his sister, Margaret R. Grundy. When the Grundy family purchased this home in 1884, they set about turning the existing structure into a fashionable, modern house. The home underwent a yearlong remodel and became a Queen-Anne-style home that combined modern conveniences and technological innovations of the day with a nostalgic styling that recalled an earlier, less industrial time. Over the past year, there have been interior refurbishments at the Museum. The Dining Room has undergone extensive restorations including all woodwork and furniture due to sun damage, wall colors, installation of a custom designed rug made by the Langhorne Carpet Company and Grundy family collections that have not been on exhibit in years.

Register for this free event online at, or by calling the Grundy Library at 215.788.7891. Seating is limited and registration is required.
