August Home Decor Drive
The Birches at Newtown is launching a Home Decor drive in August to benefit Habitat for Humanity's ReSTORE in Langhorne.Donations being accepted at The Birches include small home décor items and housewares such as pictures, statues, vases, lamps and dishes. Items can be dropped off at The Birches, located at 70 Durham Road, Newtown, between August 1 and 31.


Crossing Reenactor Registration Open
Reenactors wishing to participate in the Crossing reenactments scheduled for December 11 or December 25, 2016 must complete the reenactor registration form available on our website. All reenactors under the age of 18 must complete this registration form AND have a parent or guardian sign and return a separate juvenile release form located at the bottom of the registration form. www.washingtoncrossingpark.org


Children’s Services and New Facility Come to Newtown Low-Vision Non Profit
The Bucks County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired is expanding to include more services for children experiencing vision problems. The Newtown-based non-profit also recently completed renovations on a new exam and technology room for clients to try out and train on low vision equipment. Services will be supplemented by the addition of Dr. Melissa Richards to assist the current low vision specialist Dr. Denise Thomas Wilcox.www.bucksblind.org


Newtown Resident Opens a Sculpture Garden
Kal Katz of Newtown, owner of Mad Golfer Golf Club, turned a putting green there into a sculpture garden, which opened on July 1st. It's called the Art Community Experience. Katz was inspired by New Jersey's Grounds For Sculpture. It is full of art, sculpture, and some surprises! The address is 114 Street Road in Southampton PA. It is generally open from 9am -8pm. more information


Yardley Makefield Library Bargain Book Sale, 8/12-8/16

She asks that if anyone can make any donations (you and/or your company, etc) please do so. All non-perishables are welcome.
