Washington Crossing Historic Park Seeks Volunteers
We're Looking for a Few Good Volunteers. There are many volunteer opportunities available for all ages in Washington Crossing Historic Park, from tending the garden to working the desk in the Visitor Center, to leading tours, there is something for everyone. Announcing . . . FIND WALDO IN Newtown!
This July, The Newtown Bookshop will once again be hosting an exciting month-long scavenger hunt to find Waldo in participating local businesses. July 1st - 27th. Waldo will be hiding in 20 businesses around Newtown. Get a passport from the Newtown Bookshop or any participating business and start the hunt. When you find Waldo in each business, they will stamp or sign your passport. Plan to attend the Waldo grand celebration and prize drawing at 7pm on Wednesday, July 27th at the Newtown Bookshop! See Yardley’s Delaware Canal From A Boat
The Friends of the Delaware Canal will host two paddling sessions on Sunday, July 24. The morning session runs from 10 a.m. until 12 pm, and the afternoon session from 1 to 3 p.m. State Park Educator Ian Kindle will lead a leisurely 1-1/2 hour paddling adventure south on the Canal through the widest of the Canal's widewaters.
Paddlers may bring their own canoe or kayak and personal flotation device or the may borrow one of the equipped kayaks that the Park staff will have on hand. There are 11 seats available in 5 single kayaks and 3 tandems. $10/person. Registration is required for this activity. You may sign up by calling 215-862-2021 or e-mailing friends@fodc.org.


Washington Crossing Park Offers Summertime Guided Tours
Parents who are hearing the cries of “I’m booooooored” from their kids this summer should consider filling some of their time with a tour in Washington Crossing Historic Park. Tours of the Colonial Village and the Thompson-Neely House are available from 10 am to 4 pm for $6 each. Bowman’s Hill Tower is open 10 am to 4 pm daily and offers a 30 mile panoramic view of Bucks County. Tickets may be purchased at any of the three locations. All sites are open seven days a week.

New Yardley/Langhorne Nonprofit to Open Food Pantry
A new nonprofit, Second Helping, which was founded by a local Pediatrician is excited to announce the grand opening of the organization’s first pantry! The grand opening celebration will include wine, cheese and a presentation by Gary Rubin, a Crossing Vineyards wine expert. The Newtown Theatre’s First Black & White Dinner Set for September 2016
We’re thrilled to announce that tickets are now available for our first-ever Black & White Dinner, a one-of-a-kind fundraiser benefiting the non-profit Newtown Theatre. On September 24 at 6:30 p.m., guests will arrive outside the Newtown Theatre dressed head-to-toe in black and white, with their own tables, chairs, and dinner in hand. As dusk settles, guests will join their tables together in a long line down North State Street to dine with friends new and old. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Dressed Man, Best Dressed Woman, and Most Elegant Table. After dinner, guests may step into the theatre for a screening of Frank Capra’s 1934 classic, It Happened One Night, or linger outdoors under the spell of the lights and live music.
